Thumbs down Dance Shoe Quality Thread

I have some new Ellie's I'm not happy with. (Patent black six inch platform heels with ankle and toe strap.) The straps are flimsy and the platform is painted black, which means the paint scratches off to show white plastic beneath. Not nearly as swell as the Tony Shoes (identical type) that they replaced. The fit is poor.
Mysterious because someone posted Pleaser and Ellie's used to be the same company, and then they split the business. ??? Why the difference in quality? I had a pair of Pleasers that lasted forever and a day.
    Just wondering.

I just bought some Ellie 7 inch black platforms and they aren't like that. I did get them on a ebay store, so maybe they are a older model. I do agree that the straps are kind of flimsy though. My Pleasers I had lasted 2 years.

I only buy pleaser, and the similar brands pleaser makes ( ex. luscious), they are the only shoes that are comfortable the very first time I wear them and they never hurt my feet!!

I love my Pleasures!!!!! They never hurt my feet unless they were old and I had to buy new ones. I bought some other brand in a 6in and it killed my feet sooo bad. I only have 71/4in ones now. They are the best stripper shoes ever.
And now that Iv found site that carry them for cheaper like 40-55 bucks instead of the 80+ bucks I had to pay for them Im buying alot more colors!

    hey-
I know the brands I've bought don't last as long...normally six months before they start to get flimsy. But I like switching out my shoes anyways after awhile so it all works out.
go to snaz75.com, or to electriqueboutique.com ( I love my furry boots)

    They've got some supercool shoes.

and krystels.biz has some great shoes on clearance right now, from $6-19-- and they're pretty too!

It's weird because some Ellie shoes are kick-ass and last forver while others fall apart really quickly. I've had some that lasted a year until they were stolden and then I have a pair of boots from them that are practically garbage now and I've only had them for abour 4-5 months.

I should be getting my Pleasers in the mail soon tho!

I have three pairs of The Highest Heel platforms that have lasted for at least two and a half years. Of course, they are leather and patent shoes as opposed to the clear ones, which start to look nasty and need replacing long before they actually fall apart on me.

I had a couple of pairs of Ellies which I loved but lost. I love the soft padded insoles in those shoes.

Maybe I'm weird, Pleasers were the first shoes I bought, clear platform with black straps. Ankle strap broke six weeks later. A couple of months later I got around to having it repaired, and they lasted another four months and then opposite shoe the ankle strap ripped apart. The other pair has been good for the last six months, I need to get pads for the bottom again though.
I've had a couple of off-brand pairs from Electrique Boutique. Two were crappy with the painted plastic that chipped away and looked bad, and a slippery sole [what did I expect for $19.95 though? I selling them to newbie dancers]. Two more were reasonable, one had those clear plastic straps that ripped, I repaired and then another dancer destroyed. The other set has been so far, so good. Only three months in, my own complaint is the [toe strap? meta-tarsal strap?] is too rigid, after 4 hours of wear it hurts.
Same with a pair of Ellie's I just bought two days ago, too rigid.

I'm really picky, I want open-toe shoes, at least 6", ankle straps and no clear plastic straps. We had a vendor in last week that was like "huh.. you really know your shoes." Heheh.

^ that's my problem with my ellie's too...the part over my toes is too rigid. it wouldn't be that bad, but it's shaped a bit differently than my actual foot and really hurts. my pleasers are really comfy, though.

mermaidnz, a vendor at my club sells Tony's, and says he gets complaints of the middle of the shoe cracking, like the platform wants to break away from the heel. One girl was even showing where her's were cracking. Of course I was mentioning the straps on my Pleasers, so he was like "I think all shoes and are going to have have problems somewhere at some point."

Lucious shoes have alot of padding on the inside and a sole that isn't slippery but not too strong of a grip either. They are super cute, comfortable, and I'm in love.

Vaden, they've actually got some really dope shoes. Some of the most gorgeous pairs I've seen have been Tony's. I'm not sure if one can order from the site though since they're wholesalers. I've only purchased them from boutiques.

I feel like such an ass for not being able to insert images but if I were dancing still I would soooooo rock 707-g, 701-g, 703 and 704. I'm sure I could find many more.
