Default what to look for when buying a matress

I recently bought a new matress (simmons- ladonia) and am wondering if I made the right choice. I've only slept on it once, and my back feels odd. I am used to back pain, I have had it everyday for a long time. Today it does hurt less, but it's sore in new spots. I dont know if its sore because I'm not used to the matress, or if I picked a bad one.

Anyone ever had this matress? How was it?
Anyone have a matress they really love? what kind?

The best mattress I have ever had was an Englander, made of solid latex, guaranteed forever.

They're about $1200 with a steel box spring in Queen size, but worth every penny.

When it comes to buying a mattress, you should 've looked for the ones offering x amount of free days trial period. I just purchased a Tempurpedic today ($2,600 big ones! Yikes! [king size]) But holy shit, lying on that bad boy is fucking incredible! When it comes down to my "beauty sleep", I'm not about to skimp on quality. I have a very achy back.

I have one of the Sleep Number beds. It rocks. I can adjust the softness/hardness whenever I feel like it! My husband and I can have diffrent numbers, its very very lightweight, easily assembled/disassembled, and when disassembled can fit in the trunk of my car! I just love how I can adjust it whenever I want. When I get pregnant that will be awesome since I will prolly be very moody and picky. We got a queen, non-pillowtop, matress only, 2 side, wired remote (we would lose the wireless one) for about $1200. No payments/intrest for a year. I still have some back problems from before I cut my breasts, and our old matress just wasnt cutting it, I kept waking up all the time. This one is just awesome.
