I'd like to do the same thing, and I have applied to and been interviewed by 5 hooters. One hired me but only for a shift I couldn't work, other than that they already have too many girls working for them. That is my experience, but I do know a girl who got hired at one in South Florida, she didn't have any problems getting into that one.
Oh ladies too bad you are not in my area of Fl. Our Hooters SUCKS. They are always looking for people. The turn-over rate of staff is way any other Hooters, i can almost promise that. New manager seems like every month. Nights that is.
The place is SO small, and the ladies there look 12. Many guys have said they would not mind going if they had "real women " who are friendly working there.
Really it's that bad.

Theyre having the same problem nationwide. I worked at one when I was 18 and 19 and picked up shifts once in awhile since then. The problem lies in that with the economy down, customers arent spending alot and they keep hiring more girls.
I worked at the las cruces store which was designed for 18 girls and we had 32. Not easy to keep the same shift which was important when going to school.
It is a good place to work. You can make 80-150 a shift on good nights. So not bad but not what you make dancing, thats for sure!

I'd like to be inyour area of FL! All I want to do is lay on the beach all day.Originally Posted by Pamela
I went to Hooters in Tx and the girls were friendly to customers but obviously not happy and irritated with the low tips. In Chicago area (2 yrs ago), they loved it, and would flirt like dancers would. In Panama City the place was so packed we couldn't wait over an hour to get a seat. I guess it really depends on where you are...but in all cities all the girls really did look 12.
...and the day came, when the risk it took to remain closed in a bud became worse than the risk it took to blossom.

I don't know about the rest of you ladies but damn....our Hooters sucks. Last night while driving by i saw 3 of the girls out o the deck....I shit you not they looked all of 12!!!!
My friend is like what the hell kind of crowd are they trying to attract there? Beats the hell out of me, but they are babies....Barely of age, as well as another *bar* we have around here, "On Tap".....Those poor girls. sad, but ya know, these girls will work for next to nothing. So yep, these places know what they are doing, hiring the younger crowd has it's perks in the PAY scale too.

Some Advice:
If and when you're applying at Hooters, never ever admit to currently being or having ever been a dancer (if you are). They will not hire you. If at all possible, dance in a completely different city because if you are found out, you will be fired from Hooters.
Do not dress like an exotic dancer when you go apply (I have actually seen girls doing this). Dress normally and do your makeup with the mindset that Hooters wants "Good Girl/Cheerleader/Beach Girl Next Door" types. Remove excessive piercings since you won't probably be able to wear them on shift anyway and it might prevent you from getting hired. Cover up any tattoos or point out in the interview that you are willing to cover up visible tattoos.
You'll probably be better off in a corporate-owned Hooters versus a franchise (my opinion). You'll be better protected and the management will be less likely to take advantage of you.
Just like dancing, earning money as a Hooters girl depends on you. I've seen two girls on the same shift on both sides of the spectrum; one girl earning $300 in that shift and the other earned about $50. It depends on your attitude.
Realize that dancing spoils you. In my job, I can be rude to a customer and the managers will side with me. Being a Hooters Girl means gritting your teeth and politely fending off the rudest questions imaginable.
Big boobs are not a requirement.
Lastly, IMO, Hooters sucks.![]()
<--- NOT a former Hooters Girl, just has the acquired knowledge from elsewhere....

My sister worked at Hooters for about 6 months before she left to go to LA and she hated it. She was always complaining about the tips and being treated like shit by some of the customers. She used to say that it was as though guys that were too cheap to go to a SC would go to Hooters because it didn't cost as much to watch the girls (she never danced, though).
I have no first-hand knowledge either, though. *shrug*
Never underestimate a hot chick with brains - even if she's nekkid!
Women are like spaghetti - they're str8 until you get them wet.
My old roomate worked at hooters. She made good money, but was over worked ( she went to school at 9 am, theyd keep her there till 1 in the morning), always stressed out, and became obsessed with her weight, and she was allready skinny. On sundays, when kids eat free, little league teams, thats right, entire teams would come in and the coach would tip like only one or two people had eaten. What a jerk.

Hooters sucks. It's out of date, imo.
