That is a fun game hardkandee. I hope that you practice more and pass your test fishnet. You will get better with time and hopefully not kill any peds yourself.
Aut Pax Aut Bellum
Either Peace Or War
I failed my driving test on the first try and had to get a permit for making a U-turn on the wrong side of the U. I was soooo mad. then I passed the next time. Now my brother when he took the test failed too and that infuriated me even moreso. In Louisiana if you take the test on an automatic transmission car they don't restrict your license. He took it in my car that was a standard and they bitch said he didn't shift smoothly enough. I had a Porsche at the time and it was NOT an easy car to drive. It was HARD to shift it smoothly until you were used to it. He was a good driver but not used to the car. My best friend who had a license drove it and killed it 5 times before getting through a light. When my brother took it the lady kept making comments about what kind of car my parents were going to buy him and blah blah blah. I was like did you tell her I bought the car myself and I work my butt off? When he failed I wanted to go back in there and tell the dumb woman to get in the car and drive it and see how she did. They told him they could issue him a license but only restrict it so he has to drive an automatic. wtf??? If you don't take it with a standard they have no clue if you can drive one and don't restrict you. Anyway, he finally passed I think the next time (with an automatic car, no restriction) and then got this freaky thing where he never wanted to drive. I think somewhere in there he backed into a parked car too. My mom and dad finally bought him a car and MADE him drive so he'd get over it! Don't give up and just keep practicing.
...you hit a tree, and a cat fell out!!!!
[QUOTE=curvygirl][QUOTE] but i failed the rest bc i ran a stop sign that i didnt see. not to mention the guy was a total dickWOW! Curvy, damn can you be any more of a bitch to her?! I think that you were a little out of line, I mean she said she was nervous and the guy wasen't even in the car with her.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! YOU ARE PARTIALLY BLAMING THE DMV GUY FOR YOU FAILING BECAUSE HE WAS A DICK!! IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NOT AN EXCUSE!
Do you realize that if you cannot drive with any amount of confidence then you have no business being on the road!!
What do you think is going to happen to you when someone driving accidentally hits you because of some unsurety you have about switching lanes or making a turn or no signal or anything like that?? You put your location as Phoenix, and I spent four months in Arizona last year and I didn't think it was a picnic to drive around in. Shortly after I left Phoenix, a friend of mine had a cousin (16-year-old) that was killed in a car accident by a 19-year-old who made an unsafe lane change. I know this can happen at any age but it was pretty damn senseless!
I am not an expert by no means and have had my share of car accidents and speeding tickets, but I DID NOT DRIVE AROUND ANY CITY WHEN I WAS 18 UNTIL I KNEW WHAT THE HELL I WAS DOING!
I do not think your DMV guy was being a dick. This is not an easy job for them, nor is it pleasant. Albeit, his demeanor may have been condescending and inappropriate. BUT FOR CHRIST SAKES YOU WENT THROUGH A STOP SIGN! You risked his life, your life, and anybody else that might have been driving through at that time.
Why don't you look into getting some driving lessons instead of jumping from DMV to DMV. You are definitely going to have your share of accidents, and I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but if you accidentally kill or maim someone or a child because of insecurity and nervousness while driving, how are you going to live with yourself.
I know this posting is harsh, but you need to wake up and take some responsibility. You are not mentally mature or ready to start driving (maybe in small towns and back roads, but not in a city and certainly not around the hills or canyons or whatever of Arizona).
the DMV has a responsibility to pass only those who are mentally mature, responsible, law abiding, and literate. If that makes them dicks and asses, then so be it. But if they passed everyone that drove like you did in your posting then we'd al be dead, disabled, and/or have ridiculously high insurance rates because of people like you.
Fishnet, don't worry about it. If my little brother (bro-in-law) can get a liscense, so can you. He's the worst driver I have ever had in my car. He totaled 3 cars while he had his permit alone. And I don mean TOTALED!
Anyway, study up some more, relax a little, and try again. And if you don't get it, play the lotto and when you win; hire a chauffer.

I know this thread is old, but I agree with what curvygirl had to say. I took driving school at 16 and it took me 2 years of being a crappy driver, but I never blamed anyone but myself. Soon I learned. Driving school doesn't really teach you to be a good driver but its a way to practice in a safer car with SUPERVISION by an instructor.
