For a pay site, is it better to charge a one-time fee or charge monthy small fees? I'm trying to set up my website and I can't decide which will keep the members. Help anyone?![]()

Hey Hardkandee,
If I were doing a paysite I think of these two things: if you charge a customer a monthly fee it gives customers the option of upgrading their membership or re-inlisting (they may not re-inlist).
Also you have to consider problems with your web host server...I have had so many of them, there will be times when your site will be down and if you are doing it in monthly increments then you have to credit your customers that amount, to the next month or issue a refund.
If you do it on a yearly basis you may make a little less but it will save you the trouble of having to credit $$$ or issuing refunds due to website problems.
Good luck!

What do you mean a one time fee?
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

Like a "lifetime" membership type thing.

Hm, I've had someone request that... I didn't know you could do that. CCBill always just rebills them regularly and they cancel if they don't want to subscribe...
If you haven't found a server yet, check out elitehosting

Yeah, I'm thinking just charging a monthly fee is going to be the best route. I've checked out CCBill and like the way they do everything so I think I'll stick with that.Originally Posted by Bella21
