Well I went for the treatment today, and it was... not fun, but I'm not dead either. It hurts worse the further down you go (which makes sense). Anyway little things I made a note of...
1) This particular place used a lightsheer laser. Seemed decent. Apparently she kicked it up to low 40's for me. I noticed. heh
2) Laser hair removal doesn't work well on natural redheads or blondes. Sometimes it doesn't work at all on them. It also doesn't work well for tanned or dark skinned individuals.
3) They apparently (at least this place) shave you when you get there, so they get a good idea of where to mark you beforehand, and where the hair is growing back on subsequent treatments.
4) It reminds me of a tattoo. Sucks, then feels like a sunburn afterwards.
5) I was told they're not allowed to do a full brazillian because lasers easily damage mucous membranes, so they do not do the actual labia. They'll get as close as they can without doing them. They will take it around the back however. No mucous membranes in your butt crack. Speaking of which, lasering your tailbone doesn't feel good at all. Not at all.
6) I don't think it feels like hot rubber bands snapping you. I think it feels like a hot lazer zapping your skin causing hair follicles to basically explode beneath the skin. Which is funny because that's actually whats basically going on.
7) They can't laser over tattoos (unless you want your tattoo removed, in which case theyd probably charge you extra). hehe.
My treatments are 350 each. I was told most people need only 3-4 treatments in this area. And then maybe a touchup every 1-2 years.
Ouch though. I almost shot myself off the table a few times. =/
