I need to buy a pair of clear platform heels and I don't know whether to get a 5 or 6 inch heel. It's for my very first audition so I don't want to kill myself. Do you think a 5 would be ok to start with?

when I've auditioned I've worn 2" heels before. 3-4" at least though, so 5" would work. It depends if you plan on buying another pair of shoes soon or not. If you don't mind buying two pairs then just get the 5" for now.

Min. 5". When I auditioned I had 6 inches a week later I went and bought 7". I know 7"inchers may seem intimadating..but I've seen a lot of girls spend there money on the smaller shoes and in no time they are back at the store spendomg money on the higher heels. Good Luck![]()
I started in 6's. But I would say 5's would be fine. Just practice walking in them and you will be fine. If you clutz up like I do every once in a while, just laugh it off, we all have our days. :-)

I would say 5's also. Take em home, vacuum, do the dishes in them. You'll get used to it.
i started out in 5" heels, but the taller the heels, the flatter your feet and are and the less they will hurt at the end of the day.

I started out with '6 ich heels but if you feel more comfortable with '5 then go with those.
Also, shoes with a strap around the ankle mighnt provide you with some extra support.

I started in 6 inches, then went on to 7 inches. I still used the 6. You shoulddefinatelty practice in them, before you audition.
start out with 6 inch because they have a platform. i started out eith 5 inch and my feet hurt like a bitch until i bought six inch.

Whats a good size platform?

A good size platform for shoes that are 5 inches I guess would be 1 1/2 to 3/4". For 6 inchers I would go with 1 3/4 to 2". I guess for some people there shouldnt be too much arch or your going to be uncomfortable.
I bought 6" for my 1st shoes and I thought they made me look short so I bought 7" plus the 7's were more comfy![]()
Try the 6" b/c I think the taller you are the sexier your legs will look.

Why platform anything? Are you real short?
Personally, I can't walk in any platform. But I do wear 5 or 6 inch high heel pumps or boots.
Just wear as high as you can walk in with tripping or falling. You don't want to risk getting
hurt. If you are very tall, then don't wear anything too high.
Right now i'm trying to decide between a shoe with a 5" heel and 3/4" platform and another shoe that i think has a 6-7" heel and maybe a 2" platform. I'm super short, 5'1" to be exact. For my body type the 5" looks more classy and keeps me in proportion where as the 6-7"'s make my body look all out of whack (like an apple on toothpicks)but perhaps they will be easier to dance in. I dont know, i think i will get the 5"'s first because they're cheaper and if i dont like them i can always upgrade.
i started with regular high heels, tripped alot, it took me a minute to get used to my 7in ones...but whatever you do...START with ankle strapped ones...b/c when wearing stockings and whatnot you won't slip out or be flinging your shoe at someone's head. hahaha! it's funny, but it can happen! it'll take awhile before you get comfortable....make sure they fit yer ARCH of yer foot comfortable also. just practice at yer house for awhile and you will get used ot it sooner or later...!
