    Default hair straightener

Just letting everyone know that I went to walmart and got a box of hair straightener from there, and used it today. It worked great! I should have left it on longer, but I didnt have to blowdry my hair today or use my flat iron for it to be straight! Its great.

What type of hair do you have? or had before straightening it? Once i got my hair straightened and i still had to blow dry my hair :-( maybe my hair is just too naturally curly.

I got like the ogilvie straightener to use on my hair..but mine is like, kinda coarse, wavy, takes forever to straighten it when I have to blowdry it and then use the flat iron on it. But I didnt leave it on as long as the directions said, thats probably why I still have to use the flat iron. it actually feels soft now, and whereas before I straightened it, it seemed like so much feel out, but now hardly any falls out. I plan on keeping it up! It says you can use it again like a week later if you dont get the results you desire, but mine is fine, so I will use it again in 3 months.

Don't worry...you'll be back to curly in about 2 weeks. I know from experience. heh...doesn't matter how many times you straighten it...unless you get the super expensive Japenese Straightener...you'll be back to curly within a couple of weeks with anything else.

OMG I did call the salon about that japanese straightener, and it was like 500$!! I was like oh my word, thats a LOT. I certainly cant afford it, lol. I think I am going to keep straightening my hair though, with reasonable breaks

I've learned to love curly. All the style with none of the fuss.

I would like my curly hair, though I have no CLUE as to how to fix it curly. Its not curly curly, just wavy enough to curl, ya know? When I let it dry curly, it is really frizzed out. When I try to blowdry it curly, it ends up going more straight, but still has like wave in it, so its pointless for me to do that. The only way I have ever been able to wear it curly is when it was long. Also, around like my head isnt curly, only the longer hair

Oh, this is one that I know.
Some of these things may sound dumb, like I am falling for the stupidest marketing gimmicks available, but they work.
Salon store curlifying shampoos - shampoo and conditioner made for curly hair do make your hair more curly. My favourite is the Redken, but I'd be willing to bet that they all work.
Don't brush your hair. Ever. Even when it is soaking wet. Use a wide tooth comb.
Moisturize your hair and try not to touch it too much. Just let it dry.
Aveda Be Curly - comb it through and scrunch or let it airdry
Once your hair "learns" not to be frizzy everything will be easier. It will take time because you've been straightening your hair, so it's "trying" to be straight - it just has to relearn.
Worse comes to worse, what would probably work is a loose perm - My sister got a perm when she was 17, and her hair still falls into ringlets (she's nearly 30).

Once my hair gets a few inches longer, I would consider like a body wave in it maybe? It works so much better when its longer because I have more weight to keep it down. But good grief, I have been fighting with my hair ever since I can remember, lol.
