Has anyone done a body wrap? I want to get one but I was told by some of my co-workers that they are very temporary. I was wondering how temporary. If you have done it were you happy with the results?

They are very very temporary. They help but all they do is drain excess water, and water weight from your body, so as soon as you drink enough fluid you gain the water weight back. They are really relaxing though!
They are great for people who are trying to fit into a certain dress for a party.. I think that's the reason many people get them as a sort of once in a blue moon kind of thing.. They are temporary, but then I hear they work wonders for that temporary time.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I was very happy with my results. I started having them done (total of around 5 or 6) after I had my baby.. along with working out and eating well, I kept ALL my inches of.
Mine was all natural green stuff, sorry I don’t remember what it was called. They exfoliated skin first, a shower, then I went into a sauna, then came the wrap.
*key is exercise to keeping your body toned.

Yea I was looking for something temporary to make me feel good to stay motivated. Theres websites Ive seen where there are these fat/slightly overweight people and they are all skinny after like 8-10 wraps. I dont need something that drastic but something to boost that way of thinking thin......kinda like "I would like to stay this way" kinda thing.

Well, after I had my baby.. I was not a fat pig AT ALL *"happy about that"*
That was just my experience with it.. it worked nice, especially on my belly.
You will get immediate results with just one also.

a few years back i did some professional modeling, what most of the girls did in order to get the exact results of a professional body wrap is before you go to bed, wrap yourself up in regular plastic wrap, and drink a large glass of water. Go to sleep and in the morning when you take the wrap off you'll see the excess water drop. A lot of them also wrapped their thighs in plastic wrap and then went to the gym and worked out and the same results
i tried the plastic wrap thing, its very uncomfortable and very very dangerous to be doing at home, in my opinion. Your body basically breathes through the pores in your skin, and smothering them overnight its just unsafe, and smothering them during wokring out is worse. The body wrap, by a professional, seems like a good idea to me, to kind of bring out a lot of toxins from your body, so i would say go for it TM, just be careful
*gets down off her soap box about dangerous weightloss techniques, lol*

Around how much does this body wrap cost?

I've heard of rubbing preperation H then wrapping legs or arms in plastic.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Mine was $60 (Canadian) years ago.Originally Posted by Silky

I have no clue some one told it to me once. I guess they figured that wraping saran wrap = losing water weight. So adding preparation H decreases swelling so it must be good. I never tried it.Originally Posted by TigersMilk

I have heard about the preparation H thing too. I think it is supposed to reduce the apperance of cellulite, it tights the skin, but only temporarily.
ANyone know of a place that does these body wraps in Atlanta?

Yep. Works like a charm. Also use Prep H for under eyes if you have bags due to not sleeping well.. however.. use it a good hour or so PRIOR to showering and putting on your makeup other wise it will leave your skin really greasy.Originally Posted by Muyaha
Yes, Prep H also works on your legs and arms too... I've done the body wraps.. and they have always worked well for me, running about 65.00

do body wraps like wipe out the appearance of cellulite directly afterwards?

B- I've used Prep H as a quick fix when its been "that time" because I always tend to gain a bit of water and it has made some cellulite appear.. so when I've done it, I've bought two tubes, and use a tube and a half total.. starting at the top of my thighs and down to my knees. However, since I started taking Tonalin, I don't have much appearance of cellulite anymore, very very little.. so now I just use the Prep H for my under eye circles when I havent' been sleeping well. (I've always been a poor sleeper so I get bags every now and then)...
Riley- the first time I had a body wrap I had some cheese on my ass and it took it right out.. the body wraps are great when done professionally by someone who knows what they are doing. You go into a hot steam room and your pores get all opened up for fifteen minutes, then they spray you with a solution and then wrap your entire body in what looks like ace bandages that are soaked in a solution. They measure you prior to you going into the steam room and then after they wrap you up, they put you on a table and moves around to keep your circulation going (the wraps are wrapped tightly around your arms, waist, buttocks, and legs) you usually are wrapped up for about 20-25 minutes, afterwards, they unwrap you, spray you again and then they measure you (the first time I did this, I lost a total of 17 inches overall which is a good result). You want to go to a spa that does these regularly... I always had good results. They will also give you some dietary supplements and encourage an exercise program. I did three of these while I was working out and taking Tonalin.. I no longer have to do them anymore, although they are good for just cleaning out your pores.. your skin is so soft afterwards...
Hope this helps.

Thanks Gyger Ive always wondered what was the standard for this type of thing. Theres many different kinds I have been finding. Seems like a temporary sweet investment.

B, I would leave it on for about 20 minutes or so, put it on AFTER you get out of the shower, otherwise you get in the shower and everything returns to normal. It doesn't smell or anything, and you can take a damp cloth to remove it, and then apply some body spray..
Honestly, if you are going to go to the trouble of using the Prep H, you are better off getting a body wrap, better results and worth the money..not sure how much they'd be there in Phoenix, but here in Boise there is a woman that is awesome and she charges $60.00

Thank ya thank ya!
I think I'd like to try the prepH first just to get an idea if I'd get results noticeable enough to spend the money on the real thing. Phoenix is a very image-conscious town. I am positive there are places to get a good wrap thereIt would be just a matter of finding a good one.
How long do the results from a wrap last?
Yeah, I hear that Phoenix is a very image oriented place.. which is why I hesitate to go there and work.. not that there is anything wrong with me, just that I have no plastic anything and I've heard rumors that unless you are barbie thin, good luck on getting anywhere.. but rumors are just that....
My results lasted a long time B, but then again, I'm pretty good about exercising, drinking lots of water and watching my diet closely. Now, if you are really overweight (which I know you aren't) then of course, the results aren't going to be that great... but if you are just wanting to rid yourself of the appearance of cellulite under the back of your thighs and such, it is a good way to start.. plus, you look so nice when its done. While I was working out and trying to get myself back into shape when I went back after a long absence, I just had some little imperfections, you know, those little dimples on the underside of my ass.
I did a wrap every three months, and did target exercises, did the Tonalin CLA, drank lots of water and watched what I ate and I saw the results last longer. Your skin is so smooth afterwards.. but they tell you not to take a hot shower for three days.. the solution needs to stay in your pores for three days, so you have to do the luke warm showers for the first three days.. after that, you're good and the results are there as long as you continue to moisturize and flush your system.
I would do a colonic and then a body wrap within a day or two of eachother and the results were amazing. I swear by both of these.. colonics only every six months though!
