Default bruised knees and aching thighs...help!

I danced my very first day yesterday and did great...(about $260 after tip-outs) When I got home and looked at my knees, I looked like I had been beaten. They are very bruised. Anyone have any vitamins or remedies to help with that? My thighs are also killing me, but I'm sure I'll build some killer muscles. I mostly need help with the bruising. Will they continue to bruise that badly every time I dance on stage?? Any suggestions will be appreciated

They will not continue to bruise like that. Your body will eventually (a few weeks, maybe a month?) build up immunity to the workout they get, and you won't bruise. Cool huh? I know when I started doing pole work, my legs were bruised very badly. Just keep practicing, and breaking them in. Dont work too hard on them, just kinda moderate, ya know?

My knees get crazy bruised if I take more than a week off from dancing. Most of my bruising comes from pole work and crawling around near the tip rail on stage.

I don't have any suggestions for vitamins, etc. You can cover the bruises fairly easily with some pressed powder - the ones around your knees won't show on stage bc of the boniness. For bruises on your thighs or calves from the pole you might need dermablend or something similar to cover them.

When my knees just fucking HURT, I rub oder-less arthritis creme into them WELL before and during my shift.

Good luck, and congrats on your first night!! (and yes, you will get killer muscles - yay!!)

For the bruising I have been told by others to use arnica gel (not sure if that's spelled right). you can get it at GNC. I have not personally used it, but you if you search on here I'm pretty sure there are a few threads on it.

For bruising, I've taken baths in epsom salt, which helps a lot. Also, Vitamin K Creme (which can also be found at GNC) is also helpful in helping bruises fade faster.

I bruise way easily, so I've had to find ways to help get them to go away faster. Hope that helps!

Bruising is to be expected... same as Cali... take any time off Im majorly bruised. Once in a while I wear knee pads... seriously.. guys love it.. ask why im wearing them and i tell them to come into VIP to find out.. haha... (but i have a bad knee so when it acts up i HAVE to wear one and i wear 2 so my knees match!)

You should read my thread: "My knees can't take it", lots of people gave me some good advice. There is nothing you can do to stop it for now, in about a week your knees will start to feel tougher.
