    Default The great return

Is anyone else here returning to dancing? I know there are a few on this board who plan to.....

I am finally making my big fantastic return in March. Ive picked my club and I hope they pick me ? I am so afraid of how I'll look on stage compared to everyone else and what type of persona I am going to do for this time around??? Is anyone else going a bit nuts? Also, I plan to start some nude modeling to have a back up plan. I am looking forward to performing on stage the way I used to. I had so much fun up there.

How do you feel about it? Whats the biggest thing you look forward to and whats your biggest fear?
Also, if anyone has gone back after a long break and how was it for you? My last time dancing was in June 2002.
*edit:I plan to go back early next month!
    Thanks a bunch!!

I took 2 yrs of and coming back was a great reflection for me, of my life, goals, “morals”, and of course my financial plan.

I was really excited too, I missed being on stage and feeling hot dancing you know what I mean. I didn’t let myself go nuts about it, cuz I easily could have. I made a decision and focused on all the good aspects. The money, sexual expression, freedom, beauty. The very first dance I gave to a guy.. I was shaking lol, not of fear but certain muscles hadn’t been active in a while and in my head I was kinda freaking out but it was all good. My first stage show, I was nervous and very self conscious so I pulled the throw my G-strings to a guy and hope he gets dances and It Worked!! My first day back was awesome!

Biggest obstacle has been finding the right place for long term. So it’s great to have your club picked out, and I’m sure you’ll get in!

    Welcome back,

Well the nervousness will go away once you're back on stage. My break was about 6 months, not as long as yours, but it felt like a damn loooooooong time..and the nervouss built up intensly..plus I was going from dancing at a topless only club to a nude club! Talk about nervous!!! But I tell ya...I got over it quick..once I started twirling around on stage..it felt really good...and it will all come back to you. A week before I started I went and got my hair colored, went tanning, bought my body sprays, my fake lashes..all my toold of the trade~ it was fun getting all this stuff to prepare! I did not gain much weight or anything..but I did some toning up before I went back in ...and I felt more in control that way. I did finally set a date that I pushed myself to start buy..so I would not keep saying, "ok..I really will start next week." For me setting a date works..that way I focus on being strict with my diet and work outs..and I face the date and go for it. Seriously..you will be fine...At leat that's what I'm thinking for you Go for it!

Whoooooooooo TigersMilk!!! All the best babe! *muah*

I'm already nervous about going back and I've only been on vacation for about a month. I'm nervous because our manger said that there was going to be a lot of new girls soon and that they were drop dead gorgeous. Another thing that I'm dreading is just before I left, things were starting to change hardcore. The private rooms which use to be a nicely set up, large upstairs area where we could play our own music into scary looking booths. Plus there is a new bouncer which I don't get along with and could seriously kick in the nuts and laugh at him squirming on the floor in agony.... lol, don't ask, i really don't get along with pigs. Anyway, a month has gone by and I'm still plateaued at 130lbs! I wont budge! This trim-spa crap is exactly that.... crap! lol But I'm expecting all my pretty new things in the mail soon and hopfully that'll make me feel sexy again.

Lots of love girl! Knock 'em dead.... I know you will!

I'm also going back. Not sure when. Going to try to put some effort into looking good this time. I'm getting laser hair removal done right now, so I"m hoping to go do amateur comps and modeling gigs in between healing times for now. Hopefully that will give me enough money to put in for breast implants. Then after I'm all healed up from that... back to the stage.

    That's my dream anyway.

Best of luck to all of you going back to the dancing world!
I'm curious though, I quit in June of 2003 after 3 years and can't even imagine doing it again, it was a fun, interesting, and great experience, but I couldn't do it again.
I've settled back into a "regular" career, when I drive past a club I just smirk and think to myself, "wow I used to do that"!
Sometimes I think maybe, but then that thought leaves really fast. The only thing I saved are my favorite pair of shoes, maybe I'll get them bronzed someday...
I guess I'm just curious what you have all done with your time off and what made you decide to go back?

    Good Luck!!

Ive have a few jobs since I quit nothing satisfying enough I find myself day dreaming about the freedom and money from dancing. I want to go back b/c I need money for things I want. And this time Im planning an out; saving money etc. Hopefully, less than 5 years.

I couldn't image getting back into dancing. I stopped a year ago. I miss the 80's when it was stage only and $500 a week paycheck. Now it is pay the club and xxx in the lap dance room.

Glad to hear you have a plan. A very good idea, set goals. The break is probably a good thing to think through how you would like things to go the second time around.
It's funny how once you dance in this industry it really never leaves you. There's always that little "inner dancer"....kinda cool.

I find it so nice on this website that everyone is so supportive of each other. And they say strippers are catty bitches. Whatever.

You are going to do great Tigersmilk. I did that before for a couple of years. When I came back to dancing, I had my head together better and I started making so much more money than before. My advice, take some vitamins and drink plenty of water, 'cause you are going to be sore the next day. I could barely get out of bed. You just forget the muscles you use to look all sexy and do some of the moves we do. Good luck, you're going to do great!

Good luck! I took almost 2 years off after becoming preggo. I've been back for almost a year and I discovered that I actually make less than I did in some past years! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong--I used to carry and present a lot of negativity, but now I'm much more positive, etc. etc. Don't know what the matter could be. The only time I've ever made less than now was my very first year dancing. Anyway, this is probably not the norm. I imagine that a girl would usually make more money dancing after having taken a break, and I believe that will be the case for you! Welcome back!

I took 11 years off. I was very nervous, but after a month and LOTS of $$$, I am glad that I did. I have been told I am like fine wine:-)

I haven't danced since August, since I got pregnant. I'm due any day now and I plan to go back part time, maybe in June. I miss it SO bad. I know I've blocked out a lot of the bullshit. But I miss the energy and dancing and of course the cash. I dream about it. But I'm trying not to have expectations. I know I'll be out of shape and tired and I may not want to be away from the baby much. So I'll just see how it goes. I haven't told my man that I plan on going back yet though. I hope he's cool...

I am working with a woman who just started dancing again after 20 years.
