Smiley Supplements and Birth Control Pills

I just started taking CLA and I was wondering does it interact with birth control pills. I am excited about all the great results everyone has been talking about but I don't want to get pregnant as a result. I called the pharmacist at Walgreens and they don't have info about anything that's not FDA approved (supplements) and they said to call poison control but I was just wondering if anyone knew off hand.
Also does anyone know if 5HTP interacts with birth control pills.
P.S. The whole thing that got me started on this was that I heard somewhere a while back that St. Johns Wort interacts with birth control pills.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!!

I take approximately 30 different supplements a day and DO NOT,I repeat,DO NOT take them at the same time you take your BC pills. It will diminish the effects of your BC pills.Always take your BC pills alone without any other pills or supplements.

^Just a question, since taking BC w/ supplements will diminish the effects of BC pills, won't taking supplements ALL at the same time diminish the effects of each other?

I'm asking because I take CLA, Flaxseeds, a multivitamin, and green tea extract everyday, and I never know if I'm doing it "right."

Most supplements will not affect your BCP- like vitamins and minerals. Same goes for things like green tea, fatty acid supplements. CLA, flaxseeds, multivites, multiminerals, green tea- I've talked to medical professionals about it, and they all have said those things are fine.

It's more important to take BCPs @ the same time every day.

Herbs can be more problematic- I would talk to your doc before taking herbal supplements with your BCP.
