Default When will my knees stop hurting?

I squat to feed my cats this morning and realized that I couldn't get up without the help of a chair. I am going to GNC to get chondroiten and other joint stuff because it apparently works for other people.

When will my body break into dancing? I stretch before shifts, etc. However, I do try new moves every shift, either with the pole or on the floor.

I only squat to pick up tips.

Why do my knees hurt? Is it the 6" platform shoes?

LOL Im sorry Im not laughing at you Im laughing b/c Ive been there and its going to suck when I go back to experience that knee/leg pain again from pratically working out on stage.
Have you ever worked out before?
Well, its kinda like that when your body gets used to stretching and breaking your muscles thats when itll go away. How long have you been dancing? B/c if your new (less than a month) then yea it will go away shortly.....but if youve been dancingf for longer than that or if you have previous knee problems then much much longer and sometimes never. If thr pain persists and wont stop then go see a doctor and start doing little work on stage.

I have bad knees that like to pop out if I do a move on stage that doesnt agree with my knee. That SH!T hurts soo bad. I popped my knee out once on stage and then popped it back in....I had to be carried off stage OH so embarrassing!!!
    Hope ya get better soon?!!

I have been taking glucosamine, chondroitin,MSM supplements for the last 8 years and I swear by them.I suffered a shattered hip and ankle last year and I was able to get back into dancing in less than 9 months. This stuff works miracles.

I have never experienced muscle and joint pain like in the first 2-3 in the biz. For 2 weeks it was the muscles, but mostly just my knees after that. My first stage set of each night was spent in agony, smiling thru the pain. It should go away...try taking some ibuprofen after work each night. My sister does that after she has taken a serious run or hike. She says this helps to relieve muscle and joint pain...

It's true, I've danced now for 3 weeks straight and my knees were the worst the 1st week. Now the bruising has mostly gone away and they feel tough underneath. They still hurt but only when I apply pressure to them. My body has stopped bruising, ( I would get a few bruises up my spine and on the backs of my arms). Just give it more time!

This post takes me back! I hadn't thought about my massive knee pain and bruising (from my futile attempts at floorwork) when I started for a looong time!

It should go away after a few weeks. Go to the drugstore and get yourself some naproxen sodium (the generic name for Aleve, same effect, lower price) and pop one every 8 hours for the pain.

If there is bruising, go to a health food store and get some arnica montana.

The above posts recommending glucosamine and chondroitin are also good advice, IMO.

Default My knees have stopped hurting!

The bruises are nearly gone and I can bend, straighten, bend straighten. I've got myself a brand new dancer body! This is awesome!

I am taking all the vitamins that were recommended.

There you go hun! It's so much better after the first week is over. Your knees will toughen up fast now, I don't even feel any pain now in my 5th week!
