    Default psycho diet! help!

    hi ladies,
    i would like to lose 20 lbs asap. what can i do, short of throwing up what i eat, to lose some weight quickly. any psycho work out routines? diet pills? i know instant results are rare and generally unattainable...but any advice would be appreciated.

    Be careful you don't get sick first of all. I recommend Allot of water, fruit, veggies, fish and Exercise.

    Depending on your time frame... Body wraps are amazing for toning loose ends.

    please do not attempt to lose 20 lbs. in 1 week!! This is extremely unhealthy for your body. Typically dietitians recommend adjusting your long term diet to allow for a weekly lose of 1-2 lbs. Obviously you need to lose weight quicker than that for whatever reason, but as I've said before, keep in mind that you have to burn 3500 more calories than you consume to lose one pound!

    So, let's look at the math:

    If you go on a very stingy diet, let's say 1300 calories/day, and combined with a daily workout regimen, you burn 2500 calories/day. That's a net -1200 calories per day. This means every 3 days you lose one lb!
    In order to lose 20 lbs in one week you will have to net -10000 calories per day!

    or you can just cut off your arm

    Typically people who lose weight this quickly gain it back in a matter of weeks or months because they haven't truly adjusted their long term eating patterns.

    I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, but unless you absolutely HAVE to lose this amount of weight in anything less than two months, I would highly reconsider a more progressive and maintainable diet.

    and out of curiousity, why do you have to lose so much weight so quickly?

    thanks very much for the math. its actually very helpful.

    i think if i cut my arm off i wouldn't make very much money at work.


    I'm trying to lose the weight because basically, i feel very unfit and uuugggly. A year ago I weighed 110 lbs. Now I weigh 120 lbs, which on a 5'4" frame, its not very attractive. I'm going through the worst period of stripper burn out I've ever experienced, I think a self-esteem boost might come in handy. Ok ok ok, now 100 lbs probably sounds extreme, but I really want to quit smoking too. So I'd like to compensate for the weight I'll gain when I quit. Why do I want to lose weight so quickly you ask? Because the money at work here in Detroit SUCKS right now. Its become very competetive. I have to pay my tuition shortly, I need money NOW. I need to compete my best NOW.

    I'm not sure why I gained weight, I work out every other and maintain a healthy vegetarian diet. Life is confusing.

    Im 5' 4" and 143 (now I am thank god) and Ive never been anything lower than 125. I think you need to lift some wieghts and then spend some serious time at the gym. I am starting the Hollywood diet soon; its a 2 day all juice diet. Those might help...just dont hack up your food.

    I'm 5'2 and 120lb and everyone says I have a perfect body. How bad can 120lb on 5'4 be?

    I'm 5'4 and usually between 115 to 120. When I have been closer to 120 was when I worked out often and has increased my muscle mass. I think you'll be fine at 115, strive for that goal first.

    And I personally think your philisophy to lose 20 pounds to compensate for smoking gain is pretty silly. What's the point of switching an unhealthy habit with bad eating habits?

    I notice if need to look really skinny for certain days I barely drink any fluids & any hardly eat anything the day before and you will look like you dropped 5 pounds or so.I have dropped alot of weight really really fast doing the cabbage soup diet.I dont reccomend anything I mentioned though,because none of it healthy,its just quick fixes.I have done tons of them.You could try the atkins.You can lose weight really quick doing that too.

    I agree 100% with everthing A_guy said.

    5'4" and 120 is perfect! losing 20 pounds would make you look sick and anorexic. I am 5'4" and fluctuate between 115 and 120, like katrine. I would look disgusting at 100 pounds though!
    I think there may be some other deep-rooted issues at work here... your mindset does not seem healthy. You need a self-esteem boost!
