Default If u could do your 1st audition all over again...

I have my first audition tomorrow, and have never spent any time whatsoever in a strip club. I don't have time today to go watch -- I did go to a few clubs that were mentioned as the better ones to get a feel for where I want to work, but only one of them allowed women in, and I only got to run in and run out of that one -- but that's the one I'm going to. It's by far the best one in town. The guy there did mention that some of the girls could do amazing things on the pole, but I didn't really think much about it then. It's not so much the audition I'm worried about, I guess, as that first dance, or dances. I want to go straight from the audition and start dancing. Need to. Need some cash that fast, and he said that would be good for them, too. But now I'm panic stricken. Just tell me, if it were you all over again, how would you play it? I love to perform, but I just don't know the drill, really. I was going to wear a hat, but I'm still not totally settled on what to wear on top of the lingerie. (Bottom stays covered. Not even g-strings are allowed here.) Just describe for me, please, like I'm the clueless girl I am, from beginning to end, an example of a good striptease -- and no tricks, please. I can do slow and sexy, but for now that's it, I'm sure. (Especially in those damn heels.)
I just want to quit feeling so nervous. Before I got on here and started reading I couldn't have been more confident... because I hadn't really considered all the things I don't know & all the things that could go wrong. And now that's all I can think about.
Help, please! I'm turning into a nervous wreck, and if there's one thing I know, it's that you can't look good unless you turn it all on and own it. I used to dance every night in clubs in the summer when I was younger. Never flirted, never drank, just danced and danced and danced. Dancing was, and still is, my release. My nirvana. If I can quit being so nervous about what to do when, I think I can find that place and work it. But right now I feel blind. I'm too worried about poles and taking off clothes and what to do with them when I take them off and all that stuff to just be -- to just dance .
So sorry this is so long!
Now could someone please put a good striptease into words. I know there's a million different ways to do it. Just take one and describe it, start to finish, and maybe I'll get the idea and feel better. Just an example.
Thank you all so much! One thing I have gotten off here that is good is that I like every one of you all. You're all cool, and reassuring. It's me and my imagination gone wild (frantic, more like) that's causing me problems.

My first audition was almost 11 years ago.Damn,I feel old now.My advice is to dance for the manager like he's a customer or SO.That makes it a lot easier.

Maybe here's a better way of putting it: I know how to dance, I don't know how to strip... or am not sure I know.

And slow done. Dancing in a stirp club is different than dancing in a night club. All new girls go way too fast.

The best advice I got before dancing was to pretend that you are having sex on stage. Caress your own body, arch your back, have that sexy look in your eye. Smile if the mood strikes. Move slowly. The guys are there to see the dancer, not watch you work up a sweat.

Use the pole for balance. Don't worry about any pole tricks on your first day, just get comfortable on stage. The biggest thing to remeber is that your stage set is an advertizement for your lap dances. Do you want the guys to think that you will be dancing around club style during lap dances or do you want them to think that you will be hot and sexy in the dance area?

If I could have done my 1st audition all over again, I probably would have done it ten years sooner then I had!

Just another quick note, get to the club early and ask if it is okay if you watch the other girls for half an hour or so before you audition. Then you can check out their moves. If there is a mirror near the stage watch your own moves, and be a judge of yourself. I found mirrors so helpful when I forst started. I really noticed what dork I was being when I pulled a certain move!!

Go to Barnes and Noble and skim through that S-Factor book by Sheila Kelly. There are usually couches or coffee bar around where you can read. I looked at it a few months ago and realized I was doing all the tricks she was teaching. Only look at the first section, don't worry about pole tricks. I've never worked in a club where ALL of the dancers did pole tricks.

Rule of thumb for any and all moves: SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!

I already feel much better. You all are really awesome. I just needed something to calm my nerves, I think. Someone to tell me it's all going to be fine. And slow is what I planned on. Even in clubs when I danced I always did some slow shit when I'd get tired and want to cool down, and that's where I first learned it's power. I had guys go nuts when I thought I was doing nothing, just cooling down, moving, breathing, and feeling the music. It's the stripping part I'm most nervous about. What to wear and how to take it off and what to do with it once I do? But I will watch first. I hope that'll help.

I was a ball of nerves when I was standing there waiting to go on stage for the first time. A girl told me that as soon as I hit the center of the mirror I will be fine and I was thinking, yea right. But it happened. As soon as I was up I stopped shaking and just did it. I have the same advice as everyone else.. go SLOW... Its 5 years and I still dance slow and sexy.. guys love it... SLOW SLOW SLOW.. no nightclub ass shaking...
