    Default Body makeup?

Hey all! I am new to SW (been lurking for a few weeks w/out posting though). I started dancing in January of 2004, for about two months then I broke my ankle and had to stop dancing. A few months after I stopped I found out I was pregnant and couldn't go back until I had the baby. Well, it's been about three weeks since I had her, and I'm ready to go back to work (@ a different club), but the thing is, I have horrible stretch marks on my breasts, stomach, and thighs. Should I use body makeup to cover them up (like the spray on stuff), or will they not show that much in the dark club?

I don't think they would be that noticable, but you could use a self tanner to help out just in case. I have 2 kids...just stretch marks on my boobs (I guess I got lucky) but I don't think anyone can tell.

Oh, and they will fade as time goes on. I'm assuming yours are still bright red/purple?? Mine were that way for a while, then they faded to a light silvery tone.

Go to your local department store and buy some Dermablend.......it'll put you out about $30, but it is the best for stretchmarks.

Sometimes with lights you can not see stretchmarks. My advice is do not use body make up, because it might rub off doing a lap dance.

I have some from weight loss/gain. I'd tried Covermark, which was a major pain in the ass. Basically it did everything it claimed it didn't. It rubbed off on clothes even if you didn't put it on thick (there were stains from it all over the inside of the lingerie and costumes I worked in). It really didn't cover anything very well, had the consistancy of spackle and was hard to get used to working with.

I used it until the tube ran out, and then tried the Max Factor Pan-stick on the same areas. It's not body make up so I wasn't expecting much, but it was great. Covered better than Covermark had and I didn't have a problem with it coming off even when I wore black lingerie over it. It wasn't entirely perfect but it worked. I've heard good things about Dermablend, but haven't tried it yet.

I work with a lot of girls who have them and they don't use anything. You can't see it out on the floor and it's too dark in VIP.

And like someone else said, the trouble with the spray on stuff is that it will rub off on the guy.

And a close non-dancer friend of mine went tanning to get rid of hers and that worked.

I had the same question a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had a child myself but have stretchmarks from weight loss and gain. They suck. I've been trying to use foundation and blending it into my skin, which makes the marks look less obvious but it looks a little strange. Before I go back to working in a club I am going to check out the lighting in the club to see how much they are noticible.

I have concerns for you though, that 3 weeks after having a baby you want to go back to dancing. Are you sure you are ready for that because its a big call and dancing takes its toll on your body. You really need to have the energy to be there for your kid. And is your child breastfeeding? What if your child wakes up in the middle of the night and needs to be fed? I'm sure your partner is supportive but if you have only just had the baby... just seems you are in a bit of a rush.. the clubs will still be there in six months time. This is not judgement so you know, purely concern. You're a lucky beatch if all your baby fat has gone after 3 weeks!

Anyway, back to the stretchmark thing - I might have to try dermablend myself. I hope they have it in Australia
