    Default Self Control

I've been dieting for the past few months......I am trying to lose my last 5 lbs.

But I loooooove food. The foods that I love are foods that don't exactly help my diet in anyway.

I notice that some people diet, workout, and do fine without sneaking too many treats.

How do you manage to keep that self control?

My friend suggested that I keep a picture of someone's body I liked on my fridge door as a reminder to myself. Well, That just made me more hungry.

What worked for me was somewhat similar. Instead of posting someone else's body that I wanted, I posted pics of me at my worst (heaviest). Be damned if that didn't motivate me real quick. It makes me remember how unhappy and how un-athletic I was, even though I was still a top athlete. 85lbs later, I'm still losing, but it's slowed down. If you're nuts about it, it won't happen. If you relax and just resolve to eat around 1200 calories a day, you'll be fine. What works for me is eating low-calorie good foods (wraps, veggies) throughout the day, exercise, and then once you've done that for a while and started the process, you can start rewarding yourself with things you love (in my case Mountain Dew and Milky Way darks). But you have to be careful not to reward too much! Good luck Rose!

I tell myself "no" in my head... I know Im a bit nuts but who cares.
*Im going to write a list of foods that are no so good foods to eat in my room and fridge to stay focused.
*I make sure I dont buy nasty food to eat. So, I buy good food and if thats the only thing to eat well then hey I have to eat the good food.
Just a couple things to help me have self-control.

I also keep pretty pictures of nice bodies around and everytime I see them I think I want to be like that.

That always helps me the most. If you don't buy it, you can't have it.

I have a personal trainer who always asks me what I ate and makes me write it down. I ate two small cookies today and felt guilty! It sure helps me to have my own personal food detective checking up on me.
