    Default Scared Newbie!!!

Okay so I Have wanted to dance now for about 5 years. I have a strong desire to dance and a huge curiosity about it. Auditioning is all I have been able to think about for the past 3 days. SO I think that i am going to do it tmo. I have also been saying that for the past three days. I want to make myself go, but the fear is keeping me back. I need some support, advice, etc. Please I know that this is something i want to now and if i do not i will regret. I need to by and outfit etc. I am from atlanta so if any of y'all have any advice about clubs there. Where is a good place to start, how much i can expect to make, etc..would be very helpful! THanks!

From someone who just auditioned Saturday, don't be scared!!!! It's honestly nothing near as bad as you are thinking it will be. I know when I was walking to the club I wanted to audition at, I felt like I was gonna throw up, but as soon as I got in, I calmed down so much. The hardest part of auditioning is actually making yourself get up and go to the club. If you are scared about not being hired, don't be. I'm not sure who it was, but I remember reading somewhere on here that most clubs just have auditions to see if you have the guts to take it off...that's about it. And I have to tell ya, they were completely right. The more you keep putting this off, the more time you have to get scared. If you need, look around a little bit on here, it's a HUGE help, and see if there are any reviews about clubs you might be interested in. I'm sure that when you finally decide to go and give it a shot, you will do great!! Best of luck

I agree with BB. My GF has been dancing since she turned 18 and I had always secretly wanted to do it as well, but never could muster up the courage to actually go audition.

I was there one night to watch her dance, and she got me up on the stage to dance with her. Everyone went crazy and the I started dancing the next night. I was at the club because I was there NOT to audition, so I wasn't nervous when I went in. Of course, I was when I went up, but I didn't have to go through the nervousness of having to think about whether or not I'd make it, etc. If I had known what it was like on the front end, I wouldn't have wasted a year's eorth of my life living in fear of the audition!

For clothes, what kind of look are you going for? You need to decide what kind of image you want to present while you are dancing. I suggest checking out a few websites, dance shops, etc and looking for things that you like. I'm confused by what you mean when you say what kind of dance to do, can you elaborate any?

I ment what kind of dancewear would be easiest to get out of.. and any dancing tips. I want to project kinda of a vixen/bombshell almost snobby persona. i am no way like that in real life, i just think it would be fun. Your ideas on names would be helpful too.

Thankyou all for all the help, i am starting to feel better all ready!

Tonight was my first night, and about the dancing, like everyone at my club told me, it doesn't matter if you can't dance. Just move slooowwwwly and look sexy. Check out the other girls to pick up moves. My first night was great. The other girls helped so much!!

Just remember that all those worries---all of the things you are scared might happen--are just that. Worries. And most likely they won't actually happen.

I will often put things off because of fear and then when I actually end up finally doing it I always think ''wow, that wasen't so bad I cant believe I stressed myself out so much for nothing''

    Good luck

Hey that outfit is cute. Costumes that have lots of peices are good, or things you can mix and match with other stuff. Themes are awesome, but wait for a while to start those, your have to have music that goes with what them you are dancing to.

Just concentrate on what you are comfortable and feel best in wearing right now. And for music, just pick what you like dancing and moving around to. You will soon find out what you thought you could move to but can't...and what you can move like crazy to!!!

And go and audition noww!!! Or else you will make it harder if you keep waiting. The first time will be the hardest for sure, and the next will be smooth sailing...

Erika, that outfit is sooooooo cute. I saw one at pleasure Chest and it was between 200 - 300 for everything. If thats not the same one tell me where did you find it and how much did it costs.

I like your outfit but if you have to take any of it off think about how your are going to keep all thouse tiny crystals on they might fall off and trip you or the next dancer. Sorry, dont want to be downer or anything like that but you would much rather want an outfit thats easy to put on and take off and wont have stuff falling off of it.

Trust me as long as your outfit is somewhat more shinier or bright or different than the other girls youll do fine.....just let your awesome personality shine!! Theres no need to spend $90 on an outfit for your 1st night? I spent about 50 on a few thongs (you will need them unless you want to wash them everyday) and 2 outfits and as soon as you make more cash buy more if you like just to have variety.

Have you ever done a polar bear swim where you jump in freezing cold water at like 5am or so? Well, this is like that.....the more you ponder the less likely you'll want to do it.
SOOOOOO, just go for it..get up there....smile feel like your the most beautiful girl in the room and make that cash that has been waiting for you!! Goo goo go go go go...tee hee
    Good Luck....

I think you'll find that the hardest piece of clothing to get out of at the beginning will be your panties (if it's full nude) but you can find some that tye on the sides, there are even little bootie shorts and skirts that do this too www.stripperzone.com has a ton of stuff. Little dresses and tops that tye are easy to remove gracefully too.

    Oh - SMILE!

    Good luck!

Okay well i called the club i was looking into, and they don't audition(?) which is odd, i think. They told me to come in and fill out an appplication and talk to the gm. That they do interviews just like any other job. So now the question is where do i go from here!? What should i wear?

Wear regular clothes...jeans cute top. Trust me nothing special no need to break out a business suit there. Your going to be naked if you do work there anyways lol.
Bring at least 2 forms of ID with you or a drivers lisence should do fine.

I have changed my mind about boomers. I filled out an application and went in to watch for a while. The club just did not fit my personality, so i am going to go to mardi gras, masters , and the cheetah. I do know now for sure that i want to dance
