Default has anybody ever installed a pole in their house?

I am going to quit my lame club in the near future, but I don't want to loose the new, improved figure I hae developed working on the pole. I would also like to practice and continue to improve while I search for another club, and even afterward, so I can fall on my ass in the priavcy of my own home.

Has anyabody ever installed a pole? Did you use a kit like they advertise here, or did you do it from scratch? How did it turn out?

I got mine from lilmynx. I think its great. I got it a week after it was ordered, and its a compression mount, so you can take it down if you please, but it can also be made permanent. But taking it down takes less than 5 seconds, and putting it up is the same. Its so easy. I just leave mine up though. I got the rotator pole, where you can either have it rotate freely or have it still. I LOVE it!

I have a Platinum Stage because I didn't want to hurt my ceiling. I really like it and play with it all the time.

I had a pole in my other house...we brought it with us, but I still haven't put it back up. We had it made by a brass co. locally here in south florida. It costed about the same as a platinum stage and it bolts on to the floor and ceiling. If I had to do it again, I would probably go with a company like platinum stages...that way I wouldn't ruin my floor and also because the last pole was a hassle to actually get the co. to make it to my specs, nor was it finished on time, and then they wouldn't deliver or put together.

We put one in the hard way, down in Florida, cut a hole in the ceiling and bolted the damned thing to the rafters. But by God it was steady that way. It was a very useful thing to have around, lol.

You can get stainless steel poles cut a lot cheaper, a muffler shop will do it for you. We had a nice brass one from some club in New york, that we got shipped down. But watch out, stainless steel poles don't take a grip nearly as well, if you aren't used to it you can break something. Once you learn to compensate for this, you'll be fine.
