    Default Scars and Black Lights

I've been kind of ill quite recently (the mental variety) and i have quite a few fine cuts on my inner arm (left arm) and on my right thigh. I vaguely resemble a cutting board at the moment and although it sounds pretty bad they will heal up to fine, light scars and will take a year or so to disappear completely. Things have gotten better lately as after months of trying to find the right medication i've finally found one that works and stabalizes my moods to the point where i dont have to rely on self harm to calm down. (Gosh, i know how bad this sounds really, with the help of this medication i'm back to my old confident, fun self again)

Anyhoo, my question is: under black lights will my scars be visible? Should i apply a body foundation over them just to make sure?

I'd really like to start dancing as soon as possible.

i guess it wouldnt hurt to apply foundation anyways, just incase ( some dick head customers might just notice and point it all out to be an asshole) i dont think black lights affect weather or not you can see scars more or less...

Hmm, damn. My arm i can pass off as cat scratches and my legs ... if i wear thigh highs it would cover them. Hopefully customers would be looking at my boobs, face, bum and hair rather than my thighs. Body foundation seems like it's going to be a good idea.

What about tanning? That would hide the scars or at least make them less noticable.Even a sunless tanner would work. In the meantime apply neosporin(depending on conditon of the scars) cocoa butter, and vitaman E.

dont wear thigh high boots!! maybe wear some sexy thigh high black stockings with your outfit?? that way its slimming, the scars wont be visible, and you will look sexy...melourne is quiyte conservative...so wearin boots COULD be a dissadvantage for you...try stockings first ( and they are cheaper!!)

somehow incorporate them into your costume? cat a cat woman costume or something, that would be fun....then if they noticed, you could say its part of it and they are "fake scratchs" lol might work.men can be dumb...

I don't think that they will show in the blacklights... I am covered in scars from burns (curling iron and pole) to cuts from glass on a stage and then many from childhood... I have them on my stomach, thighs and butt.. None of them show at all on the stage.. But I do use a fake tanning lotion.. Just a little covers up everything and with it, you can't see anything unless I am standing under a bright light in the bathroom pointing it out.

Make sure they are healed before you apply anything to them (tanning wise or they might scar.)
Keep that area clean and try to let it heal before you apply any pressure, like lap dancing that mkight irritate the cut and hinder it's healing process.

Cianna, although i'd love to have them removed, i think it would be too costly. They're quite fine and light when they heal but noticeable in daylight and everywheeere. Eeep.

Mermaidnz, stockings will have to be the way to go to start with. Definitely.

Gypsy, once they heal completely i want to get spray tanned. I made the mistake of rushing to ran my legs a week after i cut and it made them look so much worse. Haha.

If they are really fine (like razor blade fine), they probably won't show up.

I wouldn't tan if I were you for a few months or a year or more. Since that skin has been through the ringer (so to speak), it doesn't have the same melatonin lvls that the rest of your body does. They won't tan as well or as dark, so they will end up showing up worse than they probably do now.

Your best bet, try the thigh highs, and the kitty story. After they heal really well, you could try Dermablend make-up to cover them. I will warn you, it's kinda pricey as far as make-up goes. But it will cover damn near anything up.

I'm glad your back on Meds and back to your old self, congrats!

Yes, i was considering dermablend, i've heard it's quite good. A friend of mine used it to cover up a tattoo for when she went to a wedding.

    Thanks, Kitana!

Approaching this from another angle, would it be possible to ask the DJ to turn off the black lights for your sets? At my club, we can ask for the black lights, smoke machine, floor fan, etc. on or off. Or maybe you'd like the black lights for your outfit, just not the scars...anyhoo, just an idea.

Also, congrats on getting healthy again...stay well.

At my club many dancers ask the DJ for certain light sets.. I think they try to use only blue and no red, but that might be for cellulite. I don;t know because I don't see anything wrong with their bodies in any type of light...
The thing about scar guard is that it does not work after the scars are healed. It says that it will "reduce" the look of them, but after the wound is healed there isn't much to do about. Moisturizing might help rejuvenate that skin so don't let it dry up!
And spray tanning is fine or ub on tan, that's what I use. I have trouble getting to a tanning bed so the fake tans have taken care of everything since you can fill up the "cracks".
