Just wondering what software people are using.
Also I would like to know what software is good for mixing or editing music.
Thanks,

Just wondering what software people are using.
Also I would like to know what software is good for mixing or editing music.
Thanks,
I actually mix my music via CDJ turntables,
and then edit and record the mixes in Wavelab.
Is "wavelab" software downloadable? Is it easy to use?
I am looking to do my own mixing now - the girl that I use over here to do my sets is BRILLIANT - but it's getting really expensive. I want to keep my sets alive with updated music and that's gonna cost a lot seeing as I have about 12 sets / outfits.
Any suggestions?

When I first got out of radio school, a few of us would snag copies of the Auto-Cue and SAW programs, begging for updates when they got them at stations and at the school. Fun fun!
I think the DJs at the bar I'm at now use plain ol WinAmp....
Number of times Rickrolled on stage: 6
*******************************
Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
Several of the DJs I know use PCDJ or Traktor DJ. Of the two I prefer PCDJ.

the newest PCDJ, VRM is really nice. very user friendly. i use it at work. but you cant really edit with it. mixing...sort of. i find it's easier to do manually, though. beatmatching on most programs just doesnt sound quite right.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.

thanks for the info, much appriciated.
DJ's in this area have been using Winamp and AtomixMp3 which is very user friendly and inexpensive you can setup playlists on the fly and have it auto-crossfade which is great if you are on the floor trying to hype the crowd! for sixty bucks you can't go wrong and it uses standard mp3 format nothing special to change!
I've been using Atomixmp3 for about 5 years now. I have tried PCDJ but don't care for it. I like being able to drop and drag for a playlist and then going down to the floor and working the crowd. Don't take it wrong, I do not load a 6 hour playlist and run off but I do try to stay about 3 ahead of things just in case. I have found Atomix to be more user friendly and agree that it is cheaper than PCDJ with the same results.
i use cool edit pro for editing/previewing mp3s after download to make sure they're legit. it's a lot like saw/pro tools if u've ever used that.
i didn't always used to preview my mp3s until one time i had 3 girls on stage and about 150 ppl in the house, and i was taking a leak and the mp3 i was playing all of a sudden started cutting out and making these noises that sounded like r2d2 and c3p0 f*cking.
after that i always preview what i d/l off file sharing progs. this is EXTREMELY tedious, but i'll be damned if i ever get burnt like that again. however, i have found a pretty cool overseas website that allows you to buy mp3s for a dime a piece and they're always clean, non-corrupt files.
they've got a pretty decent selection of songs on there, top-40 and obscure alike.

I like pcdj,im stuck using atomix.
It doesnt really matter to me really, just as long as it works and the files are all listed correctly and not corrupt files.
No more Cds for me! I'm on an Appple 12" Powerbook, it's small, and light enough to carry in my backpack. My DJ software? I'm using MegaSeg. It totally kicks ass! But it's not available for PC users....sorry!

When i finally set up a digital station in the DJ box i'll probably use PCDJ or Traktor Studio.
At the moment to edit my music and make sets up for the Show Girls i use Cool Edit Pro/Adobe Audition 1.5, Sound Forge, Vegas Audio and Live 4.04.
