I am not a thicker girl, but I have worked with some that have done quite well. These girls were very toned, but just on the thicker side. My advice would be definitely to tone up (dancing should help with that)...I mean if you aren't already, I don't know since you didn't post a picture. Some men really like a bigger girl, the trick is to find them. Definitely try black men, a lot of them really like a thicker girl. Hope this helps.

I am a littel on the thick side. I find I make tha best money wehn I wear long gowns that are open in front (thery create vertical lines, even the sheer ones do) and 6" heels. It makes you look taller and skinnier. Also, avoind anything that falls frim the bust to the hips in one straight line. It makes it look like you have no waist.

Anything that makes a point in front or creates a vertical line is a good outfit for you. I have some red bootie shorts that ride high on the hips and mave a V in the front. THOSE are some money makers!

Also, I hae some slacks outfits that are tretty falttering, but it is not easy to work a pole in slacks!

We had a gal at our club who was "thick" but DAMN she could work it! She was bigger then most of the other gals but had good tone and could shake it like there was no tomorrow! I think it comes down to confidence and how sexy YOU think you are a lot of the time.

It is all about how you feel about the way you look. If you feel uncomfortable then the customers will be able to tell. I am thick, I was a dancer for 5 years and I alwasy made good money. I worked a lot of places.

As far as the costumes went, I used to do well in thigh high fishnets, 6 inch heels and a two piece skimpy bikini. And also the long gowns. Do no tlet the customers discourage you, you are beautiful the way you are, if you feel like you can tone up, you will do better.

Embrace yourself. It's all in how beautiful you feel. The customers love self-confidence (not egotism, just a confident woman) and you will always have customers that love the thicker girls. Different folks, different strokes (ok ewww no pun intended).

i agree with the post about attitude and confidence. if you come across as being insecure about your body, it will reflect in your stage dance, the way you carry yourself, and the conversations you have with customers. most guys prefer a confident woman. have you ever heard someone say that they once didn't think someone looked good, but the more they got to know them, the better they started looking? that's how i think it is with guys at a strip club. even though they may not prefer your "look" they might prefer your "total package". also, shake what yo mamma gave ya!!!

i think confidence also directly relates to posture. stick out the most attractive parts of your anatomy making those the most noticeable. and use your hips alot when you walk. grrrr.

I always said if I were 3 inches shorter and 40 lbs lighter I'd lose my niche market. Bigger guys and older men prefer a "woman" to a "girl" Don't let the rude customers get you down, you know in the "real world" you'd never pay attention to them anyway.

I too am a "thicker" girl. Use it to your advantage, but be honest with yourself. Do you need to tone up? I too am 170lb, but I'm 6 foot, a size 8 and 21% bodyfat. Being proportionately larger is okay, but being flabby and cellulitey is not a good marketing tool. If you are not already weight training, start. If you are weight training, work on your lats, shoulders and rhomboids. This will get rid of "bra fat" and create more of an hourglass shape.

How are your sales skills? In every club I've ever worked at, there has been a girl with a huge ass who always made more money than the rail thin Pammy types. Looks (Advertising/marketing) are important in this industry, but I'd say only 20%. The remaining 80% of your sales are closed by your personality and negotiation skills.

From a custy POV, I usually go for the thinner girls (since im a lil thick myself). However, there is a girl at my club that is awesome. She's a pretty thick girl, but she's beautiful. She is always smiling, has a great personality, awesome moves, and knows how to work with what she has. Confidence and personality are key...for any dancer.

I danced when I was "thicker" and did quite well. I agree, bigger guys and older guys seemed to like me best - and they were good tippers. I was really into corsets and stuff too.

If you are into it, you can kind of work a dominatrix style.

Find outfits that fit your best feature (I have larger firm natural breasts) and hide the parts you don't like.

Think Diva - always dress to the nines and like you know they want you! And don't let it get you down when the club is full of guys looking for the thin girls - your time will come.

my :two cents: know your best asset and flaunt it.

If you have a nice tummy but thicker legs- wear robe style outfits.

If you have great legs wear short longlseeve dresses

If you have great tits then wear plunge necklines and sparkly necklaces

Show off your best side !

I'm petite but I have a big ol booty! I do great in tiny shorts that are CUT WELL FOR MY SHAPE... for not all booty shorts are cut equal. I do good in tight-fitting gowns. I always have jokes about my booty. I've learned how and when to shake, twitch, bounce, and flex it. I can also hold champagne glasses and shot glasses with it. I've spent a lot of time at home in mirrors, finding the right poses and angles to compliment and show it off.

i agree, also aproach alot of the older men too, they like that marilyn monroe look (she was a size 16). THese guys came from a time when curves were in vogue.

I know a guy who is in his 50's who likes women who are thicker and he's got tons of money so I'm sure there are lots of guys like him out there. I can be insecure about my thicker booty area but I've had men tell me there's nothing wrong with it.

I am going to go against the grain here, but if you are under 6 feet tall, you probably shouldn't be dancing.

If you are 5'6" and under you are clinically obese, and that is not considered beautiful by most people (there is a nitch fetish market who will pay a lot to worship the big girl).

I have never seen men cover their eyes while any girl was on stage, and I have seen some girls that I was in shock that they were comfortable enough to be nude in public .

Figure out your BMI and if you are over 23 you should consider taking measures to reduce that number, if only for your own health, if not for your look.

I consider myself thick with a BMI of 21, and would like to be around 120 pounds (am currently 135 and 5'7").

If you are happy with your look, and find you income satisfactory, then I guess you are doing well with the look you have. But if you want to increase your income, then decrease your dress size. It is a sad state of affairs, but when my weight is down, my income is definately up. This is a very shallow business, and that is just the reality of of, the guys are shallow and are only looking at the superficial. The girl who is closest to their physical ideal, gets their money, period.

I used to weigh 180 and wear a size 13, 38 DDD (I'm 5' 8 when I first started dancing. I'd have random nights where I did well, but for the most part I rarely ever broke 100 dollars, sometimes on weeknights I'd leave with about 40 dollars to my name. I've lost 30 lbs now, and even tho my boobies shrank (36 d) I'm doing so much better. I'm making over 200 on my worst days and my best days are limitless to the amount I can make. I think you should reconsider your diet and exercise regimen if you are getting into this industry, because it might not be worth it financially if you don't.

Too true. I'm 5'6 and 140 most days, though I'm in pretty decent shape thanks to work. Like Paris, when I'm skinnier I do better, though I wouldn't want to drop below 130. It's about looking fit, and I just don't think that 175 looks fit on any woman who's not tall and muscular. You'd need to be at least 5'11" for that to be even at the high end of the healthy weight scale.
You can certainly be "thick" and sexy, but that means that you're big but toned--no gut, no jiggle where there shouldn't be. This business is certainly about more than looks, it's about sales, but to quote a wise stripper, "When all the cars cost the same, it's easier to sell a Mercedes than a used Honda."

i think it depends honestly not on BMI,because that doesn't show lean muscle mass as a factor, but on BF%, because you can be 5'6" 160lbs and have lean mass of 150lbs, be built and fit and ready to kick some ass, but BMI will show this person as obese. Best bet get your BF% done. Now honestly if you have rolls and very jiggley parts and your BF% is above 26% then get fit not just to dance but for your own health.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

    *blinks*

Ok I'm adding one more thing in here.

I'm curvy from the waist down. But at 5'3" and 110lbs, I am trying to GAIN the pounds. Doctors consider me underweight. 125 = healthy for my height.

So it IS possible to have curves and be under the healthy standard weight. But this doesnt mean that it's a good idea to drop your weight THAT much. Talk to a doctor. Seriously. Thick is great, thick is wondeful, but dont get to the point where you've heard "lose weight" so much that you're going to become unhealthy. Unhealthy is at both ends of the scale....

As a dancer for the last 4 years, I have ranged from a (Australian) size10 to a 14 and 65-90 kgs.
I found that I actually made more money when I am curvier, as our clientele tends to be older businessmen.
When I was super-skinny the younger guys liked me more than they do now, but as they have less cash than the middle aged men I try to stay bigger!

    Best wishes
    Celeste
