Default How do I quit a club?

I want to leave my club but retain the option of coming back. Some dancers storm off, disappear, or get fired. I would like to be professional and not piss off the managers or owner. How would I do this? Do I need to put in notice? How do I bid farewell?

(There is no schedule for dancers. I show up when I feel like it.)

Tell them you're going to stay with your sick realative for a while, or that you are going on vacation

Well, then, you just don't come back and hope they aren't pissed if you want to return later on down the line. I mean, what exactly did you think your options would be if you were going to work at another local club? Girls move from club to club all of the damn time.

If there's a boss you're cool with, I would just tell them that you're getting bored at work, and so are going to explore some other clubs for awhile. Only shitty moneygrubbers will have an issue and threaten you if you work in a different club. But if you're not cool, I would just tell them that you're going to take some time off from working there. If they find out, they find out and they should let you back if they're a good club, and if they powertrip, it's probably not worth it to work there.

I just don't want to burn bridges. But since there is not set schedule for me, it'd be best if I disappear. I'm new and am realizing that this industry is very different. I've never before been hired to work that day. I've never before been able to come and go as I please. I've always had to give 2 weeks notice and train the person replacing me.

    This freedom is really neat.

When I was in Alaska working, I went back and forth between two clubs. They mgr's hated it, especially at the second club I was working at. The first club would always let me come back, because I made really good $ there, and had a regular schedule, although I could come and go as I please there since I had started when the club opened, ect. The second club had so many girls, and if you worked there, they thought you had to stay there, because you were "that club's girl". Needless to say, I switched back and forth but ended back up at the first one. Second one just had too many rules.

You don't owe the club anything - outside of not puking on their furniture or pissing in their plants. If you don't want to go back, just don't go. If there is no schedule they have no reason to get mad at you; if there is a schedule just let them know you won't be in. If they get really pissed at you, they probably would regardless of the way in which you left.

Just stop going. I've done it many times and have gone back after a while. Clubs will always need girls, they'll take you back.

Unless there were some weird politics that I couldn't, I'd tell them the truth. It'd also be really professional to offer notice (with no schedule, they probably won't care) , such as "I am planning to leave in two weeks to work for another club." Just be sure to mention how much you really like it there and all they have done for you and that there is a possibility you would like to return in the "near future".

Yeah, just say "I'm going to be leaving in -insert amount of time-, I liked working here, I hope I'll be able to come back when I figure things out a little more." Considering all the excuses I'm sure other people have used, I'd say that would a be pretty normal one.
Me, I'm getting ready to tell my current club that I'm calling in for the rest of the month (bad me) and going to be traveling.

If you can come and go as you please to work, then just go. Unless your appearance goes downhill drastically, they will almost certainly take you back. I've gone back and forth between New Orleans, Vegas, NYC, DC and Alaska to work and I've always been taken back, even at the schedule clubs.

You really don't owe them anything. Even the "best" clubs typically consider their dancers expendable. Girls turn 18 every day...

I definately agree that you don't owe the club anything. You could leave, and probably return, as you please. However, if you want to leave more professionally, you should at least give some notice. It could work to your advantage and help you stand out, especially if you decide to return when they already have enough girls and too many auditioning. You are still leaving a business establishment. Although it definitely won't matter if the club (and head manager) is completely based on jr. high politics...
