    Search House Rules

Okay ladies Im a dj in a small club that just started. I have 5 years in djing stripclubs. More experiance than even the owner has. We just opened the club about 5 months back. I need to set house rules for my dancers. So what i need are what are the current house rules in your clubs. Im writing a booklet for the club so the girls all get on the same page. We run a topless club and try to keep it clean (no extras) I deal with alot of drama girls in this club all which try to walk all over staff members. There way late to work, leave early and some are giving personal info to customers, late to there sets on stage. So if your club fines girls for anything let me know. I need to try to cover everything in this booklet.

    Thanks

Your DJ name is Kotex and you work with females?????

I think your going to have a hard time winning the respect of many professional entertainers, regardless of how good or bad a dj you are.

What ever posessed you to take the name of a tampon as your stage name??
did you lose a bet or something?
Does it mean"he with huge penis"in some language i dont know about?

Just my 2 cents dude, but i would lose the name.

I would also, lol. Anyway, I would just set up ridiculous fees and stick to them for a while, if the dancers/other employees are really really late getting to where they need to be. And if they walk all over the mgrs, its because they KNOW they can, trust me, Ive done it before and knew I could get away with it. But when more and more girls come in, and the ones causing the drama and bullshit could be ignored or even fired, this needs to be done. You dont need bullshit in a club, everyone knows this. Make it to where they have to work certain shifts and not leave early to be able to work a weekend. There will be some exceptions, I know, but if there are, fine them like 20$ for leaving early, unless it is some sort of emergency, like a babysitter problem or medical thing, ya know. If you would like more of my input, let me know, I like to think Im good at this sort of thing.

In my experience, fees for the small stupid things work fairly well. However, it seems that a lot of dancers aren't "above" paying more money to start later, so if you want them at work when scheduled, you tell them if they are not signed in with the floor guys by the time their shift starts (that means that they are ready to work the floor/dance...not just walking in to hit the dressing room), then they CANNOT work that night. They get sent home. If you decide to go the fine route, then you can simply tell them that there are "tiers" of house fees. The girls that get there early (and on time) will pay the least amount in house fees...the later the girls start (assuming they are starting on time), they will pay MORE as the night goes on.

You MUST make the rule that the girls are REQUIRED to finish their sift...no matter what. Will you ever make exceptions? Sure...but you don't tell them that. That way, it'll help cut down on the bullshit excuses to go home. If a dancer decided to leave without permission, then she is fired. No excuses, etc. She's fired...there's no reason for that.

And, if you are going to fine the girls...you need to fine them more than $20. Most dancers laugh at a $20 fine. However, I also think that the fining system is good to "knock" everyone into shape. I do not agree with clubs fining girls for every little thing. But, if the girls are out of line and thus affecting your business, then I think that the fining will get everyone in line quickly. I would also say that the girls that are causing the most drama should be let go immediately. It'll change the work environment immensely and dancers who prefer to work without drama will begin to do better and you'll get new dancers in who like the drama-free environment.

As for the name. It came about one night while mixing some drinks. A dancer stuck a tampon in the glass i had and the name stuck. I need to find out the laws on fining independent contractors. Im just looking for basic house rules. Our club runs on around 10 girls a night one shift 8hours.

Actually...since you are not an employee but an independant contractor, you are not "scheduled" so therefore should not have fines. However, there are very, very few dancers who will stick their neck out for that.

It's also illegal to make an employeed dancer pay a house fee. But, again, very few dancers will ever make a stink about it.

If more entertainers were "legal"then not, maybe the laws would protect and apply to them.
As it stands now in this industry, most entertainers are working under the table so they basically live by the laws of the clubs and the owners.

That's true M&M, but I wouldn't go and start out by making these girls pay out fines.

VG had a good idea with the sending girls home.

The "fines" at my home club are as follows:

being 1 min to 1 hr late: $20
being over 1 hr to 2 hrs late: $20 ($40 total)
being over 2 hrs late: can't work that night
bringing drugs in the club :$100
    Leaving early w/o approval: $100
no call no show : $50
being late for stage call: $10
staying on stage after set is over: $10
not selling at least 2 dances on weekends : $10 each dance you didn't sell ($20 fine max)

That's all I can think of right now.

I would also reccommend a "mother fucker" meeting before you put these fines in place. We had one and tons of fines got removed and some were added. We lost around 10 girls when they were implemented, but we also gained over 20 new ones. In the meeting the mgmt, asked us how we felt about certain things, and what could we do to fix it.

Asking the dancers input will also help, they will feel like they helped to write the club "laws".

I can't BELIEVE that ONE club has THAT many fines in place. That is unreal.

Something about individual state or county laws makes it illegal to fine independent contractors at our clubs in and around the portland metro area...
