Okay, so my boyfriend and I have had this jar of Jif peanut butter and had been eating it for a few days. Well, the other night, he says to me "I wonder what these little black specks are in the peanut butter, I keep seeing them." Well, I had seen a couple of little purple-looking blobs, but assumed it was cross contamination from a knife that had been dipped in the jelly and thought nothing of it. I even had a little smeared on my toast that morning, and some of the "jelly" was on my bread... tasted a little odd, but I didnt really think about it.
Sooo, that night, my man says "I'm going to rinse it off and see what it is" I was like, "whatever, knock your self out, its just jelly baby."
Jelly doesn't have legs.
Yes, there, in our jar of jif peanut butter, was a ground up roach that had apparently made its way into the processing plant. delicious. after being COMPLETELY mortified, he tells his two little girls (who we had this weekend) "hey girls, you know those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches you ate earlier? guess what, it had a little bit of roach in it." nice.
soo, next time you find some foreign objects in your food, make no assumptions...
