What EXACTLY do you have to do...
...during an audition?
I have searched this topic but nothing answers my question. What exactly happens? Is it like a regular stage show? And you have to get topless/nude? Is it in front of all the customers or just the management? How good do you have to be, like a pro or just walk around the stage?
Do you file the paperwork before or after? What are the questions they ask you? What kind of ID do you need: to prove your age or to prove your legality?
Can you work the same night?
I have only danced in Canadian clubs and here there is nothing known as "auditioning", we just walk off the street and ask to work.
The word audition, just like the word application, are such uncertain words.. you never know what will happen next.
Is auditiong pretty much a prerequisite to get hired or do they really look into it like it's a life or death situation?
Help!

Re: What EXACTLY do you have to do...
Ok you're in Canada so i am not sure.
But here in the clubs i worked (3 since age 21) i did an ameteur show in Ft. Lauderdale. They checked ID's of all who participated.
We went up on stage together, danced some, took off clothes to nude. Some grabbed the pole. It was all about showing the management who was the best "hire me."
Alot of dancers that night went home with no job and no $$ (you win money and a job.)
Seemed tough, but it was all good fun for me. I was hired...Lol, did not want to be, but it's how i got started!
Depending on the club, most have you audition in nice clothes, say gown or dance wear. Dress sexy but not skanky. Look classy. Actually ask what they would like to see you audition in!
They have you get up on stage (alone) and watch you're moves, smile and eye contact with them! VERY important.
Get out of you're clothes easily and smooth, maybe walk the pole (because the pole is not important for hiring) and just look happy, sexy and LOVE what you are doing.
I would find something VERY easy to get out of.
If it's topless....Easier yet!
Ask the club/s, they will let you know what they like "would be " dancer to wear to an audition. KEEP IN MIND not all who audition get the job, actually alot dont, so give you're BEST!!! If you get the job, you may start that night, or get a set shift/s.
Look like a dancer, not a porno queen.
Good luck,
Pamela
