I am personally a former raver in Atlanta, but now I'm moving to LA and it's really reviving my interest in the scene. (I hear they have really great raves/parties on the west coast). So, who here is/was into the rave scene?

heh im a bit of a hardhouse munter when i can be...but im in nz...

I am a former raver. I was never out here in Cali though, but I do have friends that are. They are always going out to LA or San Bernardino for raves. We used to have desert parties where they would set up a rave in the middle of a river wash, but it's been a long time since we've had one of those. Too bad too 'cause those were so much fun.

I'm a bit more of a clubbing disco bunny than a raver I think...handbag house! Embarrassing I know.![]()
I started hitting Chicago and midwest raves in the early 90's, when there actually was an underground scene. I got into DJ'ing soon after and have since played at parties all over the midwest, california, oregon, florida, and Toronto canada. Fun times.

I went to a few raves when I lived in Bahs-tun (frosh year of college). Not a great scene, plus I was basically stoned continuously from October thru about April of that school year....
Don't do it anymore. Hate waking up three days later and wondering where I left my underwear.
The sex was so good, the neighbors needed a cigarette!

me! i stared going to parties in 94 in fl. met my husband at a rave in memphis in 98. no such thing as a rave in fl anymore. (the last rave i went to was nye of 2002) it's all clubs now. with the exception of ultra in a few weeks. i still LOVE the music. my husband spins at home.
Retired raver here. I use to do some serious partying. I quit those shortly after my son was born. I started to really get into rave's when I lived in L.A. California. (1994-1997)
Partied more here in Florida until roughly 2001. The "X" scene was getting out of control and I am glad I got out of it when I did....there are more important things in life, but they were "good times"...![]()
I still involve myself in the techno scene with DJ's I am friends with, but no more rave's for me...![]()
Back in the day in the late 80's/early 90's in Houston. It was never the same after I got back from living in Europe though. The good raves were raided too much, then a anti-rave law was passed, and whatever was left just seemed like a meat market of grabby assholes....aahhhhh, memories, I think I might have some that weren't destroyed.......![]()

I used to do the underground rave scene, but like most people I stopped when the drugs started to rule my life. Suicide Tuesday's suck shit. Best rave state I've been to was in AZ. My bf was a dancer in a dance troupe that toured the rave scene in Boston. He sold X pills for Tommy Gunn for a while. I've hung out with him, Bad Boy Bill, DJ Irene, Venom, and Melanie C in my earlier days. Crazy times. Fun, but glad they're over. Rave's now just aren't the same though.

Was wondering who's those were.
Certainly been to, and worked, my share. Used to do some video graphics and projection stuff for raves, clubs, live electronica bands, etc. DEF loved the times, the "party favor" experiences,.... omg, the girrrrrrrrrrls.... But yer right... it's just not what it used to be. In FL anyway.
Will always dig the music, tho. It's engrained.![]()

Totally former raver here, gosh I used to love X. Went to most of the actual raves in the Midwest Chicago/WI/OH. But after I moved down to FL for college I still did quite a bit of it, however, a trip to the hospital changed all that. I have done it twice afterwards but its never the same after something tragic happens. I know I'll never feel that good again, oh well, maturity continues, amazing times though.
Whoa, havn't heard that one for a long time! I only indulged in the e on a rare occasion but some of my buds did it EVERY weekend and ended up as barely shells of their former selves within months.Originally Posted by Hottie7268

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
Techno clubs are so different from raves tho. Everyone is so uptight and unfriendly. They totally eliminate one of the things i loved about being a raver.
