    Hours/shifts?

Hi, I was wondering what kind of hours are usually assigned to a beginning dancer. Do clubs generally give newbies daytime shifts? How late do I have to work - until closing time (around 4 am) or can I request to have a shift that ends earlier?

    Thanks for the help.

Dude, (no offense thats just how I talk) You can't be picky about hours. It's like any other job, you have to deal with what you're given until you get some seniority, but don't expect that to just be handed to you, there's a lot of girls who have worked their asses off for YEARS!

I'm from New York City... judging from what other people have been saying, it doesn't seem like there's too much flexibility for newbies...

Sometimes some clubs will require that you start on day shift to
    1) see if you like it
    2) gain some experience and get comfortable
you live like an ivy vine
you can only survive by clinging onto trees
    that's your flaw
put down some roots so you can stand on your own

All clubs are different as far as the shifts are concerned. Most in Texas have a day shift that runs from 11-7 and a night shift that's from 7-2. Almost always you have some leniency on when you can show up, you'll just have to pay a higher house fee the later you are. You are expected to stay until the end of the shift, though.

In some places, though, shifts are much shorter, only four or five hours. And in others, you can come and leave as you please, as long as your fees are taken care of. It just depends on where you are.

Same goes for when new dancers work; some places will want you to start on days, some will let you start at night. You'll just have to ask at the club you're interested in.
