    Default lost voice!

Ok, last night around 11:30 I started losing my voice. Its so extremely loud in my club it gets exhausting enough yelling over the music but try it without a voice. Does anyone know anything I can do or use to make my voice come back? I have a bit of a sore throat as well but no fever. Any help appreciated. I dont go in again until friday and I dont want to be straining myself over the music all night.

hot toddy! it's a cure-all! j/k Seriously though, I've mysteriously lost my voice a few times and the only thing that really helped me was resting it. I like the sound though of when I'm losing my voice; it sounds so throaty and sexy. For sore throat herbal tea usually works for me.

Use it to your advantage!! Talking low and sexy will make the guy feel like the convo is more "intimate"...then tell him that the convo will go better in the CR!! Work it baby!!

While you are not working, drinking warms liquids (like lemon water with some honey) will help soothe irritation and remove phlegm. Talk as little as possible during the times off. Relax...it'll come back soon.

One word for ya honey! Suppository!!! It's called Neo-Laryngobis. they sell it at the drug store for about 10$ here and it's great. It's sold in a package of two and the "things" are very small; smaller than a tampon; think a baby's pinky.

Trust me, I sing and do theater and we swear by the stuff. You'll get your voice back within 8 hours. Good luck.

Lemon helps too, but doesnt cure it.

Oh and one more thing; if you want to avoid losing your voice when the music is loud; drop your breath down in your diaphgram before you speak. Dont breathe in through your chest, thats the worst thing for a voice.

Thanks everyone.Celeste do they sell those things at walgreens? I dont even feel like going out but I need to get stuff. I do tend to talk alot . I was in champagne all night and still I lost it. Tommarow I will use it for an excuse to go in there. Celeste thats good advise about not breathing through the chest and I think this happens because the loud music and the club is packed ( standing room only) and smokey.

In the future, try to find a product called "Singer's Saving Grace". It is a throat spray that has helped when I become voice fatigued. That smoke'll kill ya. In the meantime, I soothe sore throats with this tea recipe: lemon, honey, grated ginger, cayenne. Seep for a few minutes and sip... you can adjust the ingredients to your taste. Last year, I brought some in a thermos and sipped throughout the night.

Also, Celeste is correct with her breathing advice. That helps immensely!
