My stage name is Colleen O'Reilly. Colleen means GIRL in Irish; in this business everybody always calls you a girl, no matter how old you are. Besides, I think it's pretty. I wanted a "normal" sounding name because I got tired of hearing, "Aw, c'mon. What is your REAL name?" And I took O'Reilly for Radar O'Reilly, the company clerk on M*A*S*H*, because I was a company clerk in the Army.
I chose this name about 8 years ago, and it feels as much a part of me as my real name (which I also chose, BTW. I went to court and had my first name legally changed) The only thing I dislike about it is, sometimes customers don't understand when I am telling them my name. The think it's Kelly or Connie or some shit. Some guys who are not native English speakers can't even pronounce it!
I also used to go by Vixen (high school nickname!) Storm Ryder, Misty Knight . . . . and probaly some others that I can't remember.
What is your stage anme? Why di dyou choose it? What other names have you used that you really loved, and which ones did you choose and then regret?

. It was one of my choices because I think it fits my school girl image and is pretty close to my real personality to the point where I'm used to being called that.
