When I started dancing,
manager: "what would you like your stagename to be?"
me: "uhmmmmm...."
manager: "we have a -*rambles off dancer names, girl-next-doors to oddball names*- so really you can pick anything."
me: "uh.. uhm... er... Does it have to be a proper noun or an adjective or... ?"
manager: "...?... how about you use your middle name?"
So I used Elise at the first club. In a few subsequent ones I used Luna, after I had a chance to think about I really liked the name, and had been using "Luna" in various forms online for years. Though the "luna... tic?" and "why don't you use a REAAAAL name??" got annoying. And then at Scores I had to use a girl-next-door name again, so back to Elise. Which people can't hear anyway, so I'm Denise, Ellie, Lee, or whatever.
Hmm, a last name, maybe I should get one of thems.
