    Default Too old to dance?

Yes this is to the customers, but anyone feel free to comment...

Ok I get a lot of customers who tell me I need to be blonde, or have a tan, or get big boobs... all fine and good. It's all so old now that I laugh it off...

But today I had a few guys, and they weren't even together, tell me that I'm too old to strip.

Now mind you that they were each 50+....

    And I'm 27.

    Dubbya Tee Eff?

Is it really that important to customers for a girl to be 18?

its true that everyone has a specific type (age height complexion etc) of dancer that they prefer...viv la difference as they say.

Personally I prefer to avoid the teenagers, I find that the slightly older dancers have more experience, tend to be better conversationalists, and dont make me feel like im robbing the cradle.

Paige dont let these boobs get to you, they were probably half in the bag or maybe they just get off on belitteling people. I know 2 dancers who are top earners and are about 10 older than you!

Shake it off, realize they are just dicks, and enjoy the next half (or more) of your career.

It's OK, last week I did my hair all pretty, put on pink makeup and a pink outfit, and the FIRST THING somebody said to me was . . . "Are you a man?" ACK!

I have also had them ask me was I pregnant, why was I so fat, and yes, wasn't I too old for this? Last week, Some guy was obviously trying to make himself feel better by saying, "Yuo and I are in the same boat. we are both getting too old for this!" I looked at him and said, "Maybe YOU are!"

Don't let the assholes get the better of you. They probably tell the 18 year olds they are stupid or that they have zits or their boobs are too small. Some poeple are never happy.

As I've said before, some of my favorite dancers are over 30. I don't find myself drawn to the under-25 set much.

Don't worry about those clowns. Age is not an issue for me when considering dancers. It's more about how a dancer carries herself. A dancer with dignity and confidence makes age irrelevant.

    Hey Paige

I have seven years on you. This is the irony, when I was 29, I had worked in the same club, part time for five years. The regulars did the math and I got some comments about my age. However, ANYWHERE else I would go, bars, buying beer in a grocery store..ect. I always got asked for my ID. Shit, I was ID'd in broad daylight in a popular Hollywood restaunt not long ago ..and I wasn't even wearing sunglasses.

Some custy's just don't like women for whatever reason. I had fibroids (still have them, but under control), and I had to go on these hormone shots to shrink them. These hormones induced temporary menapausal symtoms. I was tired, sweat a lot quicker and my tummy was slightly rounded, (which made my waist a HUGE 25in. ). During that time, I had people guess me older and say that I shouldn't push myself so much.

Sometimes, it's just the guys that want to be with you and maybe you turned them down. And they are just lashing out at you.

Screw them! If your still making the money, that's proof enough that you are hot

Tell them there's a dance at the local jr. high school, and suggest maybe they can pick up there...

On second thought, from the sounds of it, they might try it, lol.

Fuck 'em, they're over the hill assholes. 27 is a great age to dance. Laugh it off and move on.

You are very young, don't even think about getting upset over this!I know many dancers over 30 who make more money now than when they were in their 20s.I'm 31 yo,and proud of it.BTW,many older wealthy gentlemen prefer the company of a mature sophisticated woman, than someone younger (no offence to the younger ladies). It doesn't really matter how old you are in this business,it's about your physical shape, attitude and friendliness.

I think men like that are just trying to hurt a dancers feelings. Assholes.

Everyone knows that women don't hit their sexual peek untill their 30's. It is a scientific fact for goodness sake !

Any customer who actually goes so far as to TELL a dancer that she needs to be something she is not has only one goal in mind. That goal is to cause someone else pain. Try not to give these types the satisfaction they are seeking.

Next time someone says something about age for example just return the comment with something like : "That's funny I just got carded for ___ twice last week " Saying something like that in return will just show the jerk that it didn't affect you at all because you know they are wrong.

I think there is a certain age in which you shouldnt dance anymore, but I figure if you are in your thirties and you look good, flaunt it.

So you're not tan, blonde or young and you aren't walkin around with a phenominal set of DDs?
Well then may I suggest that you climb down from the stage right now and accompany me to the champagne room? You are almost my exact type when I decide to go to a titty bar as a (gulp) customer.. I try to avoid the "sterotypical" stripper look.

Paige don't take a couple of "asshole customers" comments about you to heart. They obviously have no idea what a real woman looks like, let alone one who wouldn't take the time to talk to them at all outside of the club. I maybe a little biased here because my wonderful girlfriend is 26, but you ladies are just hitting your prime in your mid to late twenties to early thirties. Keep your head up, continue to dance and ignore the losers, I'm sure there are plenty of others willing to get dances from you.

Are you kidding me?!!! You DO NOT look too old to dance! That is just mind boggling! They probably wanted to say something hurtful and couldn't come up with anything better because your body kicks royal ass and they know it. The only hopes they have at getting a pretty girl is to pay for them, and they know this, so they are probably just bitter old cranky men. You have the upper hand and they know it.

.... and I'll have to go with Blade with his comment. You are my type of girl as well. I think you could turn this straight girl bi any time.

We all have to remember... some men do this in order to break you down, to make you think you aren't worth anything so you will start doing more for less money, the mr. punk way. The more u hear this crap, the more it sinks in. But once you know that's what they are doing and it has nothing to do with you personally, it won't hurt you anymore. Just walk away and make a note not to talk to them anymore.

There probably is a point where a dancer's return on her work time investment doesn't compute anymore. Might be age related but could just as easily be burnout or whatever. In any case, its the dancer's call.

Perhaps I was raised in a polite generation but I think a customer telling a dancer she's too old should learn some manners.

If you can't let the negative comments that people say to you as a dancer, roll off your back, then I suggest finding a new career. These guys obviously picked up on your vulnerability and used it against you. It happens to the best of us, but the wise ones know to let it go and move on to someone else who can actually appreciate you for the way you are.

A lot of guys around that age seem to prefer dancers who are not allowed to cross the street by themselves yet. I don't know why. I'm 47 and spent an hour earlier this afternoon with one of my favs who, it so happens, is only six months younger than I am. I seldom go near any girl younger than 28 or so. It's not so much the issue of age that bugs me about this thread, it's the fact that those jerks would even say something like that.

Just my two pesos, but I've consistently had a better time with the "over 25" girls. They seem to understand their jobs a little bit better than those young'uns do. They also seem to understand my reason for being at the club.

And the pic of Paige in her sig looks a lot like my ATF, so she'd probably do well with me.

I made more money between 27 and 30 than I ever did when I was younger. I became more confident and comfortable in my ability to interact successfully with customers: to "read" them and give them what they wanted. You're just getting started sweetie, trust me!
