Anyone out there like The Simpsons, but frustrated by the show's conformity to television standards? Here you go.

binky? I thought his name was Fuzzy Bunny and his girlfriend is Fluffy Bunny!

Am I correct that "Life in Hell" was inspired by Matt Groening's misery and loneliness when he moved to Los Angeles and could not escape?
"...He graduated in 1977 and drove to Los Angeles, where his car broke down in the fast lane of the Hollywood Freeway just above the Vine Street exit at 2 a.m., inspiring the "Life in Hell" cartoon series. "Life in Hell" debuted in Wet magazine in 1978, and began its first regular weekly appearance in the Los Angeles Reader in 1980. The comic strip currently appears in about 250 newspapers around the world, much to Matt's amazement.
Matt has published six cartoon books, all but one with the word "Hell" in the title. He is also responsible for countless "Life in Hell" calendars, postcard books, greeting cards, posters, T-shirts, and coffee mugs. "What the hell," he explains enigmatically."
That's all I could find, but it couldn't have been too bad, he still lives there.
Heh heh. My favorite L A tales are on Guns N Roses albums, but I like Matt Groening a lot. "The Simpsons", for all its perceived faults, is an American culture hallmark.

yay, binky and bongo. i still have my old hardcover copy of "love is hell" i got way back in high school. "love is a snowmobile roaring across the tundra that suddenly flips, pinning you underneath. and at night, the ice weasels come."
