i just danced an 8-hr shift for the first time on Thursday and let me tell ya, it was nothing like anything I've ever done. Let me give you a rundown of what I'm experiencing, if you're interested.
I'm working at a DeJaVu, and it happens to be run by a gentleman who was in one of my all-time favorite bands, so I get a little personal pleasure out of dancing when he's there. I knew at my audition that he looked familiar. The place is totally clean, no hankypanky allowed, and the DJs and other employees made me feel totally comfortable. Being a Thursday day shift it was quite slow but I banked on one customer who bought eight VIP dances from me (5 in a row, then I stage danced, then another 3) and then another customer who bought a fantasy booth, where I dance behind a glass window. THAT was interesting lol. Overall the experience was enjoyable--now I know what stuff I need to always have during shifts, how the stage cycle goes, etc. I had so much fun, I was surprised, and with every dance, I got better and better.
I decided to try that CLA (Tonalin, EAS) stuff everyone has been talking about. I took my first dose on Wednesday and the guy who bought 8 dances from me Thursday kept saying my skin was incredibly soft--I hadn't been doing anything different besides the CLA, but maybe the new razor had something to do with it... I'll keep you updated about how the CLA is working. I took "before" pics and will update with "after" pics once I see results.
I'm also on Vitamin C 1000mg (for general immunity and to supplement an herbal breast enhancement pill I'll be starting soon) and a Prenatal vitamin I take once a day. To explain the prenatal vits, I have to introduce you to my ultimate purpose of dancing--I want to be able to buy a house by the time I graduate nursing school in three years and as soon as I have a house, my fiance and I are going to get married and start a family. I'm destined to be a mommyso I'm taking care of myself and making sure I act smart.
I recorded all my dances and tips in a notebook. The manager on duty fudged my total number of dances (his error) so I took home more than I should have. He said to look at it as a one-time gift from him lol. I take that as a good sign. I kept the receipt he gave me for my house fees and put it along with my tallies in a special file folder.
I set aside about half of what I earned (before expenses) to be put in a savings account with my federal tax return. Because I had a friend here that I had to entertain all week I forgot to put aside 30% for taxes and spent what I had left on gas and lunches. I'll make that up later.
I downloaded a free trial finance management program called Timeless Time & Expense. It's not the best program to use but since I started keeping records on day one it'll be much easier for me to transfer the information to another program or to tax forms.
I really loved everything I did in the club. Sadly my parents found out (they weren't supposed to know) because I mistakenly left my contract lying around my room; I had to make up a story or I'd be kicked out. Not ready for that just yet. I am making plans to stay with friends if need be. I feel like a star on that stage--and that's my name. Starr. It's easy to remember, I have stars tattooed on my arms and legs. I can't wait to go back.![]()
