Default wickedly bored law enforcement in Hawaii

apparently the undercover law enforcement in Hawaii is arresting the girls
    for giving aggressive lap dances:

The Hawaii Supreme Court upheld the prostitution conviction of an exotic dancer yesterday for performing a lap dance,

Keawe's attorney, William Harrison, said the lower courts put on hold at least 200 similar cases pending yesterday's decision. He represents the defendants in about 150 cases.

"The injustice is they (the dancers) cannot remember what happened. They cannot challenge the officer's statement. The officers can make up whatever they want," Harrison said.

That's not right. Those poor girls. The transition into another job is going to be harder with a conviction for prostitution on their record.

Hey arent there like, REAL CRIMES to be solved, like child molestors and the sort running around? Yes the Hawai Law Enforcement can be satisfied they are protecting the world from evil lapdancers (<--- EXTREME Sarcasam)

That sounds awfully dodgy to me. What the hell is the court doing, if the arrest isnt legal then how can they convict? Sounds like something they would do here in Queensland.

But yes, that poor girl. Hey is there some way we could support her or something? Or am i being too idealistic?
And when the daughter of Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee. And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

what would happen if a girl got busted for a lap dance who was a foreigner. do you think that would jeapordize getting a green card renewed? i ask because 90% of the lap dances at certain clubs are technically illegal, i.e. prostitution. like one little touch while nude, one foot NOT on the floor, shoes off, one booby lick, and lots of other stupid rules that lump dancers in the same category as ho's. not that i would EVER do an illegal dance, of course, but just curious.

Yeah, the cops have arrested girls in Hawaii for prostitution after getting private shows with them.

Most of the time, the girls plead No Contest, the girls are warned to stay out of trouble for six months, pay a fine and thats it. HPD never has followed-up with another undercover sting later to try to catch them a second time within that six month period. Most of the time, the stings are the result of govt pressure during an election year to crackdown on the strip clubs and the arrests are simply to make the public believe that HPD is really out there enforcing the laws against prostitution.

Judging from the news report, I'm guessing that this girl chose to contest the charge in court. Most girls plea No Contest and the judge gives them a relatively light slap on the wrist with no jail time. If they contest the charge, the odds are that the girl will be convicted, as Keawe was.

So, the girls get stuck with paying lawyers' fees and fines. with no way out of a f***ed-up situation.

We've had off-duty HPD officers rent the upstairs club out for bachelor parties on occasion. If any of the judges on the Supreme Court ever saw the way the officers acted during one of these parties, they'd never believe a word these guys said in court when they testified in a prostitution case.

While these guys are grabbing the girls, and trying to take pictures and videos, the girls are scared to death that all these same guys are going to come back later and try to bust them on prostitution charges.

I've seen off-duty HPD give girls alcohol to drink on-the-job (illegal) and try to get them to perform sexual acts, like blowjobs and/or handjobs, for them (very illegal). We cant refuse to let them rent the room, or they'll do a punitive sting against us later.

The three worst groups of customers to rent the bachelor party room, according to my own observations: HPD, Honolulu Fire Department (some of their guys got out-of-hand and they threatened us with a Fire Inspection later, which they promised we would fail) and prison guards (they drink WAY too much and tear the place apart).

We had a really suspicious group try to rent the bachelor party room a few months ago. They brought nothing but non-alcoholic beer and bottled water. We naturally figured they were HPD Vice trying to train some new guys in their squad on how to do a sting. They got out-of-hand early on and we threw them out.

Like Duane said, the cops are big sticklers about anything touching the genital area!!! Even your hair!!! Having started dancing in Hawaii then moved to Balitmore it's amazing how these rules can easily be reversed from state to state.
But at least in Hawaii we didn't have to dance on perdastools like they do in New Orleans. I always found that tricky.
Dances in hawaii aren't bad though. It just means the girls has to find other ways to turn you on besides grinding.... it's more entertaining in my opinion - at least from a dancer's perspective.
