    Default Depeche Mode

Do their songs get played a lot in strip clubs and if so, which songs do you hear the most?

I love this band so much, if i had a choice i would choose lots of songs by this band to dance to.

i play a lot of their stuff, mainly the singles and remixes. the club 69 future mix of "It's No Good" is great, as is the Tenaglia remix of "I Feel Loved". not a big fan of the really slow boring stuff like "home" and "useless" for work though. but other than the slow whiny ones they have tons of good choices for dancing.

Violator is an excellent CD, except for a few of those whiny ones ("Blue Dress" sucks!) but much of it is fantastic. It was overplayed for a while there, especially "Personal Jesus" but it has been long enough now that it's no longer a problem. I like "Policy of Truth", "Enjoy the Silence" (another great song for making love to), and "World in my Eyes"

I also like the Portishead remix of "In Your Room".

I dance to "Policy of Truth" and "Enjoy the Silence". I also have a mix that blends both songs. They're great to dance to.

there's a fun remix of "behind the wheel" that turns into "route 66". another sexy one that still has a beat is "dangerous" from the "personal jesus" single. and probably one of my favorites personally is "lie to me" off the "some great reward" album. and on top of all of that, there was a pretty decent covers album called "for the masses" or something like that. had the cure doing "world in my eyes", smashing pumpkins doing "never let me down again" and stuff like that. your original question was which ones get played the most. i would say :world in my eyes, enjoy the silence, personal jesus, it's no good, policy of truth, i feel you. i also like "but not tonight" off "black celebration" but that has to be for a girl who i know KNOWS her DM.

I have that damned remix somewhere, lol, it is pretty good. Wait! I know! It's from one of those "Just Say Yes" compilations, which I'm willing to bet Mr.C has in his gigantic CD collection, lol.

"for the MASSES" (why it's capitalized I dunno) is a great CD, I especially like that Rammstein "Stripped" cover. It also has a good Dishwalla cover of "Policy of Truth", and an interesting Rabbit in the Moon cover of "Waiting for the Night"--which, like almost all R in Moon stuff, needs to be cued up at least 2 minutes in, lol, and takes a certain kind of dancer and crowd to pull off. It's pretty hot, though, I think.

Working as a DJ got me hooked on a certain type of female vocals--not the schlocky Celine Dion stuff, I still can't handle that, lol, but more the Paula Cole "Feelin' Love" type stuff, and some of the female vocals techno.

I use remixes of "Master and servant" and "Rush" in two different sets. I bought the 3 disc set released year of the remixes and it is ace. I went off Depeche Mode a little after "Songs of Faith and devotion", but have been getting back into them again via those remixes. "Photographic" remix is excellent too!

Only The Best - I miss '80's too, but the good news is so many bands are trying to recreate that sound again, particularly through new genres like electroclash, that I agree with TigersMilk - it's coming back!

Holy Shit! I knew I had downloaded something hot, and lost it again.

It's "World in my Eyes (Razormaid Mix)"--but it also was called (Kraftwerk Mix) on Limewire

But, like so many good remixes, you have to cue it in at either 1:14 and cut it at 4:30, or maybe at about 1:50 or so, depending on where you want to cut it--I won't play it after 5:05 because, as is also common with remixes, it gets weird, lol.

And now that I've made sure to keep on topic, unlike my previous post...

I miss my flock of seagulls/Billy idol Haircut.
Wow, did you really have one?! If I could go back to the 80's, I'd definitely grow a Mohawk!

And what the hell is, or was, a Merry Go Round?

Merry go round was a great store in the mall, had all the fast times at richmont high kinda clothes, but the employees were trained to hassle you.You couldnt just walk in and browse without 4-5 people asking you if you were gonna buy something.

Yea i had one,i think i have destroyed all the pictoral evidence to include any known negatives though.
    Just know,it was very scarey.

Big GreenMnM let's not talk Billy Idol haircuts - I too have had to destroy photographic evidence. Unfortunately, I had that do when I was an underwear model and I think they are still accessable on the net. D'uoh! Djoser, I too would wear the mohawk if I could turn back time - that is one cool look. Alas, it's the Vin D look now or nuthin'.

I have had every kind of goddamned hair imagineable (even hanging down to my lower back) except the mohawk, the best of them all! No way can I do it now, I do architectural drawings, and that kind of freaky look would not go over too well, lol.

I just wear mine really short now, shorter than in this avatar picture, which my girlfriend hates, BTW. Now everyone tells me I look like a German hit man or a Russian bad guy from the movies.

And now, to ensure that we stay on topic, barely, a new contender for the worst remix ever:

"Space Age Love Song" (KMFDM remix) Flock of Seagulls

I love KMFDM, but they should have just left this one alone!

Oh Djoser, you said it. In fact, that entire remix album was terribly disappointing (Flock Of Seagulls greatest hits remixed, Cleopatra). There is maybe 1 or 2 at best "interesting" interpretations, but the rest were not good at all.

I bought it because the Missing Persons and Berlin remixed hits cd's (also Cleopatra) were fuckin' BRILLIANT! The Astralasia remix of "Dancing in Berlin" is a lifetime favourite, and even better than the original! I STRONGLY recommend those 2 cd's for '80's fans.
