Default do it yourself poles? ideas?

I need to practice pole work, and dont have one. Other than buying one online, any ideas how I can make one at home relatively cheap without drilling or mounting too much ( i rent a townhouse so I dont want to wreck the ceilings or floors) .

I wouldnt recommend doing this yourself. No telling what damage or what kind of pole you'll end up with. Just break down and get one offline. You will be able to use it anywhere you go. The lilmynx only requires one drill hole in the ceiling. You can just spackel over that when you leave, no problem. Thats all it takes.

Well Ihave a friend who used to own a strip club and he built the actual stage at the club. Its not his club anymore but the stage is still there. This Friday he say's he's gonna built me a stage "supposedly". So if it comes out good i'll make sure to tell everybody how it was done and MAYBE post a pic if i can.

Nice going, Colleen, I missed that one. Hyzenthflay figured out that problem very well.

You can also get somewhat nicer poles at a muffler shop, though they will probably be stainless steel and thus more slippery than brass--but once you get used to it this isn't a problem.

But basically, weighing down the thing with some kind of base is the answer, or cutting holes in the ceiling is going to have to be done. We went the whole route where I liced in Florida, using a brass pole from a club, cutting a hole in the ceiling, and bolting it to a joist.

You could build a wooden platform with the pole sticking up in the middle, and make sure there was enough weight in the thing to keep it stable, depending on how big the person (s) using it was. This way it could be used inside, and would be portable.
