someone is going to sue someone for wrongful death.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
Can't do that - there was NO DELAY in response of paramedics. The cop was an ass and deserves punishment...but there's no wrongful death if the parameds were actually dispatched in time (which my local news department, thet broke the story, told me they were).

This is part of a bigger problem of police abuse of power and abusiveness in general.
I remember reading two different studies that both said that about 40 percent of police officers abuse their children or wives, as opposed to ten percent of the general population.

LISBON, Conn. - A state trooper was suspended for 15 days without pay after he was recorded on a 911 tape saying "too bad" to a caller seeking help for a man injured in a motorcycle accident.
So that's what the punishment is for endangering someone's life? Here's another article. The excerpt below, particlarly the boldface part got me fuming:
http://www.wtnh.com/Global/story.asp?S=3107048
Trooper Peasley has 18 years with the state police and the department says he has been a stellar trooper with a long and unblemished career.
Meanwhile, the state police union tells us Trooper Peasley is remorseful for his comments but the union says the discipline is inappropriate and harsh.
The family of Justin Sawyer says a 15 day suspension isn't tough enough.
Well I guess when one belongs to a police union, any punishment is innapropriate and harsh. Seems to me that permanent termination from law enforcement for this idiot would be plenty appropriate.
Sure does wonders to keep people's confidence in the cops doesn't it, not to mention the 911 system?
Former SCJ now in rehab.

I don't think the kid's death could have been prevented in this case, but I don't think this man should be allowed to keep his job until he isn't so lucky.
What if this had been a case where dispatcher instructions aided someone in saving a life?
Because there ain't no tits on the radio
