    Default Walmart acrylic nail kit!

I used to get my nails done but got fed up with paying $$$ every 2 weeks for fills. So I haven't had acrylics for over 3 yrs. However, I bite my nails, they look like crap, so I tried Nailene Acrylic Nail Kit from Walmart.

Awesome! My nails look just as good as a salon job. It took about 2 hours to do a full set but they look amazing! The kit was $15 and included tips, acrylic, and everything you need to do a professional job.

I would highly recommend to any "frugal" people like me looking to get salon-quality nails at home!

I buy my nails at walmart but I buy the Broadway Nails full nail with the half moons in them. They stay on for a long time even through my day job (housekeeper) and look great

I love that nail kit and use it all the time. It takes practice to get them right though. Practice will make you faster at it too. It takes me about 45 min -1 hr to do mine, with my daughter bothering me. Even if they look right, if you use to much liquid acrylic they will start to come off after a week. To mix the liquid and powder dab just the tip of the brush in the liquid and it will saturate the entire brush. Then scoop very little onto the brush and place it on the nail. Wipe the brush on a paper towel and smooth the acrylic. Too much liquid=coming off. Always remember to use the primer! If you get them done at a salon you've probably watched the nail techs a dozen times. Same thing, and not hard.

Also, if you get really into doing them yourself they sell the acrylic and other stuff seperately. You can also get a drill at WalMart for aaround $20. Maakes it much easier and faster. Make sure you clean the acrylic brush with acetone afterwards! If the acrylic dries it will ruin the brush without acetone. Runs around $2-$3 for a bottle at Walmart.

Tigers Milk, my friend was having the same problem with yellowing. She bought a UV protectant top coat polish, but it hasn't helped much. I'll ask her if she's found any other solutions.

Is it the acrylic turning yellow or just the polish? I think her problem was primarily the polish...
