Here's an example of why you need to be careful lightening your skin http://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/003769.html

And an example of just how much retouching can be done http://glennferon.com/portfolio1/index.html Dull skin, ashiness, and fat can be taken away, and other things are enhanced!

And an example of how un-perfect even celebrities are when they're not dolled up...

Dolly I can understand your dilema. I also am a dark skinned woman. West Indian mixed decent so parts of my body are noticibly lighter than others. I will give you a website of a natural product that works. I had acne scars on my face and they have faded considerably. I will tell you one thing though as a black dancer I have considered lightening my body because of a number of factors including the lighting in most clubs are so dark that customers can't see me on stage and two I have met a few women of color dancers including some spanish dancers in NJ and NYC who told me that they use lightening products on their bodies to reduce marks on their bodies or because they feel they make more money the lighter they are. I can say I have only used these products on my knees, face, and butt I am dark but I am one of the top earners at my club. You don't need to lighten you whole body or go shades lighter to make money.

I gather that it would work on the knees. It has alot of natural ingredients in it. It made my complextion much brighter and even. My face look alot healthier and glowy not dull and spotty.

Dolly I get tons on compliments all night about my skin. And these compliments are coming from white men. I work with another black dancer at my club and she is much lighter than me but has no personality and makes no money. I knew when she started she thought she would bank because of her complexion (you know how that goes) but no such luck for her.

Whatever you decide to do be sure to protect your skin with a quality sunscreen.
Lighteners make skin prone to more damage ( uneven coloring) if you don't fully protect it.
No matter what your hue is everyone needs sun protection.

Cool, thanks Ebony. My knees are so thrashed from bruises that were never treated. Now every time I get a bruise, I treat it with Arnica gel and it goes away. I think I will be wearing bandages on my knees so they can have a chance to even out. I can't help getting on them all the time.

I want to know this too. I have developed Vitiligo directly on my asshole and I'm embarrassed about going back to dancing with this issue, especially nude
