    Definition of a "regular"

Everyone on SW talks about "regulars", but I'm wondering what makes one a regular? How often in the club, how many dances/dollars per visit, etc?

    fairly subjective term.

do you mean regular at the club or regular for a dancer?

regular at the club generally more than once a month.

regular for a dancer if she's on stage and stop and waves at you or she gets up and talks to you as come in.

most of these apply to me

    Put to song.

    HERE COMES A REGULAR

    Artist: The Replacements
    Album: Tim

Well a person can work up a mean mean thirst
after a hard day of nothin' much at all
Summer's passed, it's too late to cut the grass
There ain't much to rake anyway in the fall

And sometimes I just ain't in the mood
to take my place in back with the loudmouths
You're like a picture on the fridge that's never stocked with food
I used to live at home, now I stay at the house

And everybody wants to be special here
They call your name out loud and clear
    Here comes a regular
    Call out your name
    Here comes a regular
Am I the only one here today?

Well a drinkin' buddy that's bound to another town
Once the police made you go away
And even if you're in the arms of someone's baby now
I'll take a great big whiskey to ya anyway

Everybody wants to be someone's here
Someone's gonna show up, never fear
    'cause here comes a regular
    Call out your name
    Here comes a regular
Am I the only one who feels ashamed?

    Kneeling alongside old Sad Eyes
He says opportunity knocks once then the door slams shut
All I know is I'm sick of everything that my money can buy
The fool who wastes his life, God rest his guts

First the lights, then the collar goes up, and the wind begins to blow
Turn your back on a pay-you-back, last call
First the glass, then the leaves that pass, then comes the snow
Ain't much to rake anyway in the fall

IMO, regular status is up to the dancer. The custy has to want to buy from the dancer, but the dancer has to decide whether or not to continue dancing for the custy. If you go to the club at least once, or more than once a month, you're a regular at the club. If you get dances or VIP's from a certain dancer each time you go, and she gives them willingly, you're her regular.

The term "regular" can vary greatly. Basically all it means is that someone recognizes you when you go into the club.

Maybe you're a "club regular" and the managers, waitresses, bartenders, and some of the dancers recognize you. Or, you may be a "dancer's regular" in which case very few people know who you are except for a particular dancer. Or, maybe you're a mix between the two. Like a "dancer's regular" who shows up enough that eventually you become a "club regular".

Now frequency is not so important. You may only show up once a year! Some regs will show up like clockwork; weekly, monthly, semi-annually, etc. Some will show up several times in one week. Some will show up a bunch of times over a short stretch, then dissapear for a while, then show up again.

Also, IMO there are three types of regulars.....

The first and one you hear about most often are the one's who are cool and then start to get treated more like a VIP.

The second is a regular who shows up, people recognize him, but sees no change in how people react towards him.

Then the third is a regular, who people lable as an a-hole or a physcho and actually starts to get treated worse than the avg joe off the street.

So to make a long story longer.....the point is that the term "regular" like most things in a SC environment will vary and depend on other factors. heh

A grand slam is when the batter hits a home run with the bases loaded. We were up 4-0, then I hit it and that ended the game due to the mercy rule. I had 11 RBI's in 4 at bats. That's the whole story. But enough about that. I have to remain humble. Back to "regulars" conversation.

    What JZ said.

The basis and temporal factors involved in SC regularity vary widely and are not indicative of anything other than the fact that one is known to frequent the establishment.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

    Good answers so far.

On this forum, the term "regular" is commonly used to mean "good regular," and that follows the first definition verf provided ("someone who is cool and gets VIP treatment"). This is also consistent with the definitions in the "You may be a regular if..." threads.

We need to add a new one to the "You May be a Regular" list at the suggestion of a dancer at my table last night: "You may be a regular if every call and text message on your cell phone after 3:00 PM is from a dancer." Last night they decided to do a full-court press on me with six dancers and two waitresses texting me starting at 3:00 in the afternoon. It was hilarious. God, I love these girls. Beautiful, smart, sexy and every last one with kick-ass sales skills.

Showing up a lot is heading you toward regular status. But you have to spend money also. Frequent visits + no tips = rep as a cheap ass

The wife and I finally concluded that we were officially regulars this last Saturday when:

1] We were immediately approached by our ATF and at least one other dancer with big smiles and hugs,
2] We were quickly sent free drinks by the club manager,
3] The champagne host stopped after about 30 minutes to say hello, apologized for not stopping sooner, and had a long chat with us about our SC visitation habits,
4] The champagne host also has memorized our favorite brand of champagne,
5] Dancers have started handing us their home contact numbers and emails, and have started corresponding with my wife,
6] Our ATF mentioned that it would be cool to hang out outside of the club,
7] We blew $900 in one night, and now are depressed because we can't afford to go for another 3-4 weeks. Sigh...
8] We are now counting the days until our next visit.
9] When I go to the SC alone, the dancers, waitresses, and champagne host always ask me where my wife is, and send her notes at home saying how they miss her...

SCs rock ...being a regular is expensive...
