I vote we stop watching so much TV and have more sex. Who's with me here?

I have my own "Fox Blocker".
In September 2003, I had my cable TV subscription cancelled and turned-off my TV for the last time. I havent watched TV since.
The reason I did that was because I was totally disgusted with television programming. The mindless sitcoms, Fox News and the endless parade of TV shows which were both insulting my intelligence (e.g. "Who Wants to Marry a Millionare", Reality TV shows, etc.).
I missed TV a little for about two weeks, but I grew used to the absence of the Idiot Box and began to read more. I've also begun to practise writing poetry and fiction on my own.
Life without TV may not be for everyone, but if you're sick of the mindless drivel being broadcast these days - Fox News included - it may be the best solution.

I did this for a few years. It does make you lose touch with popular culture. That is my only reserve about not having tv. Someone will mention Paris Hilton and you will say "who's that?", and they will look at you like they do their grandma or something lol.Originally Posted by DJ_Duane
Losing touch with popular culture. Sounds like the biggest reason I'd WANT to ditch my TV...except the internet news services would keep Paris's face in mine anyway (and it's not her face that's the most interesting part!)
I was going to mention Outfoxed, but I see someone beat me to it. Now if someone could invent a device that makes Bill O'Reilly shut the f*ck up, that would be really great![]()
