I like acrylic....but for now I have natural. I got that acrylic kit and Im going to attempt to do them 2morrow.
I like short acrylic nails though.

NONE!!! I actually got a bacterial infection (Paronychia) that was in the cuticle area that moved under my finger nail.It hurt so so bad and throbbed. It was from the nail salon getting gel tips on when they push back the cuticle that's what I'm guessing.
I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
I just put acrylics on, but previously went years without. I was biting my nails and they looked like crap, so I broke down and did acrylics.

I actually just trimmed mine a few days ago.

Mine are actuallly just like yours meea. I PREFER the acrilyic only because my real nails are TOO sharp and i actually end up hurting my skin (weird huh?). Yet I still have had my real nails for a long time now at least a year. Acrylic are just so expensive and hard to remove my contacts with that i just end up sticking with my real nails. Nice and short.
I have acrylics.
I always have them french mainicure style...![]()
I have natural. The arcrylics totally killed my nails. With the length that I need them (to chase around a little 2 1/2 year old) it was just easier to have them natural.
That and the fact that I cracked my thumb nail on the bar at the club one night. Cracked completely down the middle of the arcrylic nail and through my own nail. Ouchie. Haven't had fake nails since.![]()
Ouch, I have done that too. It hurts! I went about 2 weeks without them and then had to have them again. I hate my nails without acrylic's.Originally Posted by VenusGoddess

i find the time/money for acrylic/gel is just not worth it. i prefer the little bit shorter style and i really have no problems with breaking them or chewing them.
I always bite my nails, so when I worked I got acrylics. I wanted to try gels, but never got around to it, but I hear they look really good.
LOL sorry, had to laugh when I saw my own hand on the screen in the background... HAha my cat was sitting on my lap and I burst out laughing so hard she got scared and ran off! LOLOriginally Posted by LoveSexMoney

natural here, but had acrylic's for about a year before i decided enough was enough..
My nails grow well, but they dont hold polish well!!
I'm a horrible nail-biter, but sometimes I get away with being natural since I have tiny hands & the tiny nails aren't so obvious (provided I put a little clear polish on them). I hate having fake nails on, so if necessary, I'll put on the Broadway Nails Real Life French nails which last about 5-6 days. Then I'll pop those babies off and get to gnawing on my real nails again!!

Mine don't hold polish at all. Which is why I've got pink and white acrylics!Originally Posted by tampafldancer

My real nails are too thin, no matter what I do... plus I'm a biter, but only with my real nails. I've been getting acrylics off and on for almost 15 years now. My customers love the colors I use, and I give really great back scratches!

I have that problem too. I use OPI Ridge Filler, it fills in the ridges in your nails. It makes the polish go on much smoother and last longer. It dries clear matte and sometimes I use it without polish. Also, my nails don't break as much since I've been using this.Originally Posted by tampafldancer

Really? OPI is the absolute worst polish that I've used on my nails. (By worst, I mean as far as lasting power - I love their colors more than anything else.) Even on my toes it doesn't stick.Originally Posted by Tonya

I prefer acrylic nails.

I voted natural, I think acrylic nails look too high maintenance.

They are high maintenance (1.5 hours every 2 weeks!), but I enjoy my therapy time with my nail girl.Originally Posted by LilSweetVixen

I prefer getting my nails done. I also prefer getting nail art instead of airbrush, but I'll do both. The customers loved my nails. I would get them black with the white stencil decorations on them. Or if it was nail art black, white, silver (or red) were my trademark colors.
