    How much to tip for....

I finally had the chance to go to Diamonds in IL and I had a blast !!! Some of the dancers that I really enjoyed their performance, I tipped them $1-$2.(I was sitting in the back so I had to walk up everytime I tipped) I bought (my first ever) lap dance and tipped the girl $2, but then when she came on stage, I tipped her another $2...she was really really nice. Not only did I enjoy her, but I had planned to come back next week and ask for her. I felt bad because I thought maybe I should have tipped even more, but I was with my best friend (I'm a girl btw) from out of town and I was entertaining her all weekend and essentially I only had "so much" money to spend that night..I spent 60 between the admissions, the lap dance, valet parking and I tipped everyone from the guy who brought my car, the girl that checked my coat, i bought a $3 bottle of water while I was there and I tipped her $2...I don't know if there is a rule of thumb, but the next time I go, I could always "make it up"....thanks for any input.

Sounds totally acceptable. While big tips are always nice - I was never offended when a nice respectful customer tipped me a couple dollars.

I dont know about anyone else, and no offense, but when girls come in clubs, I dont expect them to tip much anyway (they never really do), but also I dont expect huge tips from them either, so I would say it was acceptable, specially since you werent sitting at the stage.

Hey 2$ from a cute girl is better than hearing "I have 7 inches for you as a tip!!" from some dumb college boy. (the latter happened to me last week...I could've killed him!!)

I've never posted before, been lurking for awhile *looks around* I guess this means I'm caught. I've been both dancer and customer, but I have this tidbit to share about a customer experience. On my 21st birthday some friends took me to Tampa, I don't remember the club (I was totally trashed) but my best friend (who is a guy) bought me a lapdance from this really cute dancer (I was so jealous of her, I told her to). Anyway, She gave me this huge hug when it was over (umm, I think three songs later) because not only did my friend tip her I gave her twenty bucks. I prolly would have given her more, but 'twas all I had. I normally only do two to five bucks fro different stuff, but this girl was good. Heh, I'm not even bi and I was turned on. Still trying to figure out what the hug was about though.

Any tip is great for me...unless there is some dumb remark after it. $2 or $20....anything is appreciated. Especially if you come back to see me...thats even better.

...or dimes, or quarters. I had a guy tip me a quarter the other night, I was like, "Is this all you think I'm worth?"

You sound fine, depends on the club. At one club I worked [Upstate NY/North PA-style] most of the dancers asked for a $10-20 tip upfront, other places most of the customers don't tip, so an extra $2 is all good. If she didn't ask, and you didn't see other people ask, I'd say you don't have anything to worry about.

    Dancers hug.

It's kinda like a "Hey, howya doin?'" from anybody else.

I agree. Anytime you tip a dancer above and beyond the amount that you owe for a dance you are doing something that is appreciated. It really doesn't matter how large or small the tip is. It's the act of tipping itself that counts because it shows the dancer that you enjoyed the show she gave you.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

Just want to say a quick thanks to everyone. When I go on Thursday, I'll have more money to spend since it's payday. It just dawned on me that I could have gave the guy who brought my car a $5 since it was cold out, but I spent my singles inside

Tipping in change is just an insult..god some people just don't have any respect for the working folks!

Some guy w/ his two buddies, totally smashed, put a few quarters on my stage. At the end of my set, especially since they were being obnoxious, I threw the quarters back into his lap and said "Why don't you just do your f*cking laundry?!" I made sure to be overly sweet to everyone else around the stage, even the guy that only put down a dollar.

Anyway, compsci, I think any tip from a girl is appropriate, although with those "pennies from heaven" I would typically ignore you as a guy. It's that whole equal level thing where you don't need to be spending your money but the man with you sure as hell could . Thanks for stopping in the club.

Regarding stage tipping, the best way to go is to watch what everyone else tips, then tip more. IMHO, it's a sure way to get lots of attention from the dancers, which is always good. During a three-song set it's not unusual for me to tip about $10-$15 if the dancer is decent. My tips for LDs range from $5 on a $20 dance to $40-$60 if I've spent an hour in the champagne room (base cost $300). The most important thing is that the more you tip, the more popular you will be with the dancers...at least in my experience.
