Before and AFTER weight loss success!

Hey Ladies!! Let me just clarify that this post isn't about me bragging. I have recently seen a lot of girls complainign about their weight...and I thought it would be nice to show how anybody can lose weight!!

I weighed 155 when I started really hating what I looked like and I decided that I needed to do something before the damamge was too great to fix by myself. (Health wise)

It took me three months, NO kidding. I went from a size 10 to a size five in 9 weeks. And A couple months later I was down to a 3.

All I did was seriously look at what I was eating. I took out fatty snacks and desserts. I switched to diet soda (ack! 300-400 calories a day from regular pop!!) I limited butter and stuff like that too. No mayo or heavy salad dressing, the basic way to cut bad calories. I stepped up my activity level and I used portion control at meal time. But I never took away everything, I still eat pizza and candy, just a lot less portion wise.THAT'S IT. Now I am confident and I can't wait to get out there and BANK!!

I used that infomercial work out "Slim in Six" It really worked and it was easy and fast!! I even skipped days like a normal person, but it did wonders for me. I want all you girls who are trying to get the weight off to know that it IS POSSIBLE! You can do it too, just remember... you deserve to feel beautiful!

Here's some pix...Judge for yourself! Think I've got the look?? If I can do it YOU CAN TOO!!!

    Great job!!

Since I took LOA last year from dancing, I've put on some weight. Need to hit the gym full force again...and watch my eating.

But, congrats again on a great goal and success!

Wow! You look amazing congratulations! What is "Slim in Six"? How do you do portion control, that's my biggest problem it seems!

Hey Katrine! (thanks to everyone for the congrats BTW ) If you go to www.beachbody.com you'll find a link to the slim in 6 program.

As far as portion issues, the best way for me to do it was buy a smaller dinner plate and eat at home more.

Back in the fifties the average dinner plate was only 8-10 inches in diameter. Nowadays 12 is the norm. It's too easy to put lots of food on a huge plate so if I use a smaller one the portions feel larger. And I also tried to measure my food out too. Like a cup and a half of broccoli and a roasted chicken breast with a teaspoon of low cal gravy on the side. It was just for dipping bites of chicken. If I wanted starch, I had half a baked potato with (a measured blob) low cal sour cream. To add more food but less bad stuff have two kinds of veggies that you really like! Then it feels like two different tatses that you enjoy. I swear by a baked sweet potato for lunch! They are big with a lot of flavor, fiber and vitamins!!!

If you hate to cook, try buying premade frozen stuff, I liked that when I was working because I knew exactly how many calories I was eating.

The best thing for me when I was eating out would be to say no thanks to the bread basket. easy way to eliminate something you only eat cuz your bored! I also liked rewards too like individual bags of M&Ms. No twp pound bags in my house anymore!! LOL I miss them to this day...Pout Pout

But THE best tip is to stop eating four hours before bed. Drink water and embrace that hungry feeling. It means your metabolism is working and going for the fat on your butt!! I eat four times a day Three hours apart, Breakfast-snack-Lunch-Dinner

Just don't give up if you have a binge day. It's normal to get weak for favorite treats, but be responsible for your calories. It's not a matter of only low fat or only low carb...LOW CALORIE is the way to go. As long as you burn more than goes in...the weight has no choice but to leave!!

Keep up the hard work and reap the rewards!!!

I definitely think we can all help eachother become the godesses we are meant to be! The support women give to eachother is so important especially when we get the urge to give up.

Now if only I can break into the business...I definitely think I can do it, I've got the look going but I need to feel like I can do it talent wise. Being new to something is has always scared me. But this is something I want to do for myself like a declaration of sucess plus I can't imagine another job where I could EVER make this much money.

I've got a couple of outfits, shoes and a stage name...now for the audition....

    Back to the subject though:-:-:

In that first picture of me...my horses ass was as big as mine, I couldn't believe that was how I really looked. I was on Depo Provera and it made me gain 40 pounds. I had to do something, so I got off the shot and started trying to eat right. Then, my husband joined the military (navy) and left for boot camp. 3 months alone knowing the hubby is going to come home ripped will do something to ya. I didn't want to be the stereotypical pudgy wife, ever, and at the rate I WAS going I would be like that. The only one that could help me was ME.

    So you know what girls??

You just hafta look at yourself as capable. I mean hell what can't we do as powerful women??? Come on now and really trust what you can do for yourself!

P.S. Velvet, I'm so glad that atkins worked for you, a lot of people have wrong idea about it though...I know there is a lot to the atkins way of life.

Congratulations on your weight loss-you look fantastic! I've been really lazy lately (eating too much, drinking too much alcohol, and not exercising), and you gave me the motivation that I need! Thanks

I have the Slim in 6 set - if anyone is interested in buying it, PM me. It is not, I repeat, NOT, for people with any kind of knee, ankle, or lower back problems. Lots of high-impact repetitive motions 6 days a week with 1 day of rest is very stressful on the joints.

    But you look fantastic.

Well, As far as maintaining my weight goes, now that I am down to the size/weight I want to be, I just make sure to eat mostly the same way I was when I was watching my intake before. I mean, portion control isn't really a temporary diet you know? I try to make sure I'm burning more than or at least the same amout I eat.

Granted now, I don't count calories like I did (which wasn't terribly close anyway) but I still make sure I am RESPONSIBLE for my calories. If I trip up and eat a snickers bar for lunch...I have to deal with the fact that 266 (BTW I just looked that up, I'm not a nut who memorizes that junk. LOL) Calories of my day were a candy bar that left me hungry 20 minutes later.

Also, if you try to make each meal about 375 calories, you'll end up on a 1500 calorie diet. So, even with a candy bar for lunch you could still have something else for about 100 calories. This is the way that I do things. You'll be surprised how far those calories can go when you take the high fat stuff out. Like a medium sized apple only has about 60 and some people only have that for a snack when according to my schedule a snck has 350 calories just like the rest of my meals.

Also, I like to eat high fiber at least once a day, it makes you feel full longer. I do it at breakfast because cereal or oatmeal is easy to enjoy, you know? Plus, diet soda and water all the time. Clories hide in drinks... I'd rather eat a 100 calorie roll at dinner than drink those calories without even noticing. Even be careful of juices too, lots of sugar calories.

Plus I try to get my workout in there at least once a day. Sometimes it's morning sometimes at night. I walk my dog a lot, that helps you burn calories you didn't even think about. I even count having sex, if it's the rowdy kind! When I start dancing, man...that will be a great workout.

I'm not a fitness fanatic or a calorie obsessor, but I like to try to not do what most people who aren't successful do. The reasons diets fail are many... so I just try to give myself the best of both worlds!

Eat what you like and be responsible to yourself!! I love the girls here and I love being able to help you all. Making a change in your whole life isn't easy, but together we can do ANYTHING!! Keep trying and take it one day at a time.

Heaven, Thank you for all the advice! I am bookmarking this thread for easy reference. THere is SO much good info here.

I especailly like the part about making each meal and snack 375 calories. That way I don't have to remember what I ate friom one meal to the next--AWESOME!

I know it taks a long time to write all those posts, and I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates it. Thank you for taking your time to share all this with us!
