Default Falling for a customer..how often?

Last night I met a customer who "seems" (I know they could be not what they say they are) like an incredible guy. He graduated from Princeton and is a trader in Chicago. He is gorgeous and young(27) too. I got called to the VIP room while I was talking to him, and he decided to pay me twice the price of VIP so I would stay on the floor and just talk to him. He didn't want any lap dances from me because he said they weren't genuine anyways. This guy really impressed me, so I gave him my email address. I can't believe how I am DYING for him to email me. I know a dancer shouldn't date a customer, but this guy amazed me. I've only been dancing for 3 days, so my question is: How many customers have you fallen for or have REALLY liked?

I fell for my customer and it's almost three months later now,and I'm moving in with him.In the 11 years in this business, this is only the second time I have been with a customer outside the club,so not very often at all.

What happened with me was he came in and saw me dance for his friend he was meeting up with and essentially "stole" me from him.He bought some dances from me and then gave me his business card with his cell phone number on the back.I toiled with myself with the decision to call him the next day and needless to say,I did.We have spent every single day together since.

I dated a "customer" once. I put customer in quotations because he was a customer of the bar where I worked but I had never danced for him myself. It wasn't one of my better ideas. At first things were okay, but after awhile he started getting upset about my job. Said he was uncomfortable with the idea of other men looking at me. It eventually drove us apart. And for a few weeks after I broke up with him, he and his friends came into the club and called he a slut and a whore while I was on stage. The bouncers were good about kicking them out as soon as they started the shit, but it was still pretty hard to deal with. All in all, I'd say that it's probably not a good idea to start a relationship with a customer.....or with anyone else from the club, like co-workers. Just my 2 cents. If you do decide to see this guy I wish you the best and I hope it works out for ya.

I was happily married before I started dancing, so all my customers ever were to me were dollar signs. I do have one good friend from it though.

I develop crushes on many of the customers. I gave my number to one of them. When we spoke on the phone, I realized that he wasn't nearly as interesting as he had seemed in the club.

As a customer, the only advice I would give you is to be careful with your heart. One of the reasons dancers may not be well-advised to date customers is that many customers (especially young millionaires) may not be looking for a LT relationship with someone who is a dancer, but just an entree into a fascinating/titillating world. So if you want to have fun with him, go for it. But remember that he may have lots of issues keeping him from getting too serious.

Shannon, it's beyond silly to fall for someone after 3 days on the job. Maybe you're not cut out for this field?

I'd recommend you encourage this wealthy charmer to come see you a great deal over the next couple of months. You'll pocket, potentially, thousands of dollars from him (and other charmers). If, in two months time, you two have the same strong feelings, then of course dating might be an option. In the meantime, you'll have a) made money; b) more valuably, learned the basic protocol of being a dancer, which includes keeping your emotions in a lock-box. Whatever you decide, do listen to your sisters here who are reminding you to be careful.

He probably was really outgoing when it was all pretend and then got nervous when it had the potential of becoming real, and lost his charm and nerve.

I've NEVER fallen for a customer. But, I work mostly days and personally I wouldn't want a boyfriend who goes to stripclubs during the days and meets women - instead of being at work or something. That is sort of bitchy, but just a personal preference. However, I don't think it is totally wierd that you hit it off with a guy. And I also don't think it makes a difference if you just started or not - it's just chance, it could have been on your first night ever, or your hundredth night. Anyway, I would just say move with caution. And be prepared to have him decide he doesn't want to be with a stripper, he may be just out for some fun. And if it becomes more than that, he may want you to quit dancing.
However, if you find yourself falling for a lot of guys, then Chicago Editor might be right. I think it's pretty rare to fall for customers.

You also might be jumping into this and believing him a little too early. Remember, just as some dancers may take on a different persona when they go in to work, some customers decide to take on a different persona as well. Mr. Big ballin', high rollin' business executive might actually be Mr. McDonald's manager. Makes me raise an eyebrow as well because you said he was a little drunk. He could've been from another state and just visiting someone; therefore not really worrying or caring about whether or not he lies to you about who he is or what he does, just to look good. Hopefully you got hold of a real good guy. If that's the case, don't be so readily available to him. Play a little hard to get. Makes sure you want that, and that he does too.

That's just not possible, sweetie; I was at home writing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I called him tonight and I still don't know if I will see him outside of the club or not. It's leaning towards more No. He is who he says he is, at least I searched his name given through email and everything matches up. I don't think he's my type afterall...he goes to clubs/bars 4-5 nights a week and flies to New York or Texas on the weekends..his type seems more like Paris Hilton.

Hells bells. Hello? What am *I*? Chopped liver? Open invite for women (and, okay, men, too) from Chicagoland (or visiting here) to get in touch with me for OTC social events. I like a wide, WIDE circle of companions (whoops, probably not the best word choice there...) for eating, discussing, debating, live music-listening and movie-viewing. You'll notice I didn't say: "Partying, boozing, grinding the night away at Syn." Been there, done that; I'm on hiatus. Besides, between the crushing weight of my job <sigh> and business travel, late-night good times aren't feasible for me right now. (Check back in August, when I'm taking off two weeks in a row...)

After reading your last replies, girl this man doesn't sound like relationship material to me.....if that's what you hope he is. If it's fun that you want to have with him, go for it & be safe.
