Default Blood sugar issues + Dieting

I get ill when I have low blood sugar, and cannot have too much sugar at once (like regular soda or a candy bar)....it's been a struggle to limit food intake without getting all loopy. My family says I act stranger than usual when I haven't eaten.
My best pal has the same kind of trouble, so I have a sounding board at home about what to do and what to eat, but I was wondering if anyone here has more suggestions about how to eat well without getting bored or feeling deprived.
I have been using cinnamon as a sugar metabolising aid, and it's quite pleasant. Cinnamon also tastes sweet (maybe from cellulose?) and in baked goods, the flavor makes up for reduced sugar content.

UMMM... I would look into this via a physician that can have you do a glucose tolerance test or maybe something else.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

There is a book I've seen called Gycemic Index, (on the shopping chanel) but I'm sure it's avail. elsewhere. It seems like it might be helpful.

You need to see a doctor about this. What seems simple and what works for others may be bad for you. Seeing a doctor and finding out what, exactly, the imbalance is caused by would give you a much better grasp and foundation for building a diet that would suit you and help your body work at it's best.

I get loopy and have wacky blood sugar drama too. I just learned to never really let myself get hungry. I carry nuts, crackers and cheese with me and make sure to eat small things throughout the day. Protein things will stabalize you faster than most other things... especially if you let yourself get really hungry and start thinking you are craving sugar (that happens to me).

Have you been to a doctor about this? You might want to ask about reactive or fasting hypoglycemia.
