Amateur night in IL Rigged or Not?

So I talked to Diamonds in West Chicago and Allstars in Northlake-gotta do the amateur night in order to be considered for a job. Has anyone ever participated in either of these amateur nights? I have read posts about the club throwing in a house girl, who ends up winning. I don't want to waste my time if they're not legit. interested in hiring. Oh yes, what about the house fees/other fees at these places? Thanks

well, it's not necessarily rigged, per se. usually, when a girl comes in to audition, she'll know one or two of the employees there (be they dancers, bouncers or whatever). these employess may go around to everyone else - fellow workers, customers, etc. and encourage them to cheer the loudest for the girl that they know. that's how i've seen it done.

when you go to audition bring some people with you. have them cheer real loud for ya. be cool with the girls that work there already, and they'll probably cheer for you too. i've seen that done, too. it usually works. i don't know about all clubs, but i think this may hold true for the majority.

I used to work at a bar when I was about 19 that had swimsuit contests, Hawaiian Tropic pagents, etc.

The owners owned one club in my city and another an hour away. The owners would send me and 2 other girls to the other club - and pay us each $50 to do the contest - and usually win. Sometimes there was someone who clearly beat us out - then that girl would win, but otherwise, one of us did.

Many clubs do stuff like this.

I did the amateur night at Allstars in January. It was jsut me and another girl who was also trying to get a jjob. I know this firm evesdropping. She really was much better than I was and of course she won. Don't know about dancers, though. Good luck!

As to whether they really are hiring or not, at allstars you can ask fo rthe housemom office. they write the schedules and really know what is going on.

Wow, what you're describing really does seem like they are riging the contests.

In my experience it is common to see dancers from other clubs do the "amateur night" contests. They may not be amateurs, but they have to win it like any other contestent. Some dancers I know view these contests as supplemental income during slow times at their normal clubs. heh.

As far as auditioning for a job, where one places in the contest doesn't usually matter. The person who wins, may not even be looking for a job at the club. I've seen on many occasions where a girl who didn't win, place or show still get offered a job.

(Sometimes prior to the contest the housemom or whoever is in charge of the contest will ask the participants if they are auditioning or not. A few of the dancers I know will tell the club they are looking for a job, even if they aren't cause they figure it may help them win the contest. )

    Best of luck.
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.

I've done a couple of amateur nights at Diamonds. It's not rigged. But, the bigger your "friend crowd" is, the better you will do. It also helps to have a great stage presence.

2 of the times I competed, I was the only amatuer there (the other girls were seasoned dancers and were only doing it for the job). The last time I did the contest, I had already been dancing...

It's not just Illinois...their like that nationwide, I believe.

BTW...at Diamonds there were no house girls there in the contest...I bombed the first time, placed 2nd the 2nd time and won the last time.

Maybe I'll do the amatuer contest at Allstars, next.
