    Default Adopting a different persona

I was talking to my driver over the weekend and one of the things he mentioned was that I talk, act and come off a bit differently by the end of a night of dancing then I do starting off. After thinking about it for a minute I either consciously or unconsciously adopt a new persona. I talk differently when dancing, I do my hair quite differently, I act a bit differently than I do in general and not just with regards to working but after dancing. Does anyone else notice they do this, intentionaly or otherwise?

Yep. The same observation came out of the mouth of a guy I was dating, which I guess was good because he saw that I treated the job like something separate from my real life.
I'm too lazy to do a complete character shift, but that kind of evolution is good- it's for your safety and to ease sales. You kinda have to put yourself aside to do the kind of sales job we do.
It's something to keep in mind....I don't think it can be faked all the time, since some customers seem hinkey or irritated if they feel like a big farce is being pulled on them. Like, What's up with her????? But yeah, "compartmentalizing" is key to surviving as a dancer.

yes, i definitely have a different personna at work. it was just born upon itself, and now i embrace this idea. outside, i am shy, quiet, even nerdy. not social at all. at work, i am bold, brazen, cocky, fun, and don't take any crapola.

it's liberating in a way, like my alter ego. it's this switch of character that i sometimes feel keeps me sane. so i rarely feel like i bring work home with me. or if i have a bad day, i won't feel that way at work, either. their two totally separate parts of my life. but, i'm a gemini, and have always been capable of such duality.

Yep...outside of the club, I am a lot more down to earth and happy-go-lucky. At work, I am more of a "high maintenace" type of girl. A lot more straight-forward.

I think, personally, it's good to do that. It keeps your personal life private and lets you "be" whoever you want at work.

I developed the personality of ScreaminPeachez super stripper cuz the real me has like a ton of anxiety issues (I felt like a greasy little kid in her moms lingerie)
Peachez even has a different voice than I do
the hair, make-up, and walk completely opposite of me
she is also much wittier than I am
she says some hard core shit

my husband doesn't like her much
she's fun but a smart ass

I make sure to turn her off before i see him
    she hurts his feeling

but she has helped me indefinitely
she got me jobs outside of work with her pushy, no-nonsense attitude!

    viva the alter ego!!
