    Default Has anyone done Thermage???

If someone could let me know if they had real results from this procedure I would be infinitely grateful.

I am attempting to quit smoking but, at age 25 I have a few more lines then I should.

I am going to get another face peel in about a month. But I want some kind of reinforcement under the skin to help lessen Nasolabial folds and those lines in between the brow.

any other advice on looking younger is welcome.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that the lines you see aren't a big deal to anyone else.

When I was 25, I noticed lines forming between my brows and in the naso-labial area, which freaked me out! I attached a pic taken right before my 26th birthday. I look 12. If you asked me then, I would have told you that I looked like an old lady.

I've had Radiance and Restyline injections (like collagen) and Botox between the brows. The results were minimal because I looked good to begin with. There was not much to do. I considered the procedures a big waste of money. If I were in my late 30s, maybe they would have been worth it.

I had a Blue Peel too. I didn't notice any results. Same with the many glycolic acid peels I've had.

I'm 29. No Botox. The collagen-like injections were absorbed by my body and are no longer there. Here's a pic. I do get microdermabrasion once per month because it does wonders for my acne and make my skin smooth and glow. Retin-A is part of my regimen as well.

I think I look my age. Looking your age = sexy.

And quit smoking (yay for you!), stop drinking, eat healthy, exercise, moisturize, no tanning.

    LIZETTE
    you are adorable!!!

and I see you have the same expression lines around the mouth that I do.
I think they look cuter on you though.

I just feel like I look so old lately

I run 20 minutes three times a day and have been doing deep breathing exercises to up my oxygen intake.
I take prenatal vitamins, eat a ton of fiber and veggies and fruits.
I use Solvere, Retrinol, and vitamin C serum. I alternate that with Proactive system and vitamin A and E capsules
    I am seeing some results.

but I could just about rip my skin off!!!
my skin looks dull, lifeless, if the lights hit me right I look about 5 (maybe even 10) years older. which is no biggie now
but in a few years that may double!

I am trying to remain calm about it
(cuz when i don't the lines in my forehead look like the egyptian symbol for water)

    *sigh*

25 was a hard year for me. It marked the time when I began to look older. I tried everything to look 16 again. Thermage is for people who are thinking about face lifts, definitely not for those in their 20s because it wouldn't do much.

ProActiv makes me wrinkly. Benzyol Peroxide is drying.

Hopefully, you'll learn to accept that small signs of aging do not take away from your overall attractiveness and you can look fabulous while looking your age. Sarah Jessica Parker?

Whatever you do, please don't become this woman. http://yestheyrefake.net/journals/ma...atherlift3.htm She's 31 or 32 and constantly in surgery. She's had Thermage and a feather lift and a brow lift and another brow lift and all sorts of unncessary stuff. Although, I like the information she shares on her website http://www.yestheyrefake.net
But do take care of yourself. Looking like a hag is yucky.

I've had expression lines since I was 9! The puppet look comes from my bone structure. I can't change it unless I want to saw my skull. Kristen Kruek has the same skin folds.

I'm reminded when my mom and I were mistaken for being the same age. She's 56 (no wrinkles though). I skipped sleeping the night before we went shopping. I looked awful. My skin was dry and flaky.

Thermage is to extensive for a 25 year old. Get some photo facials they tighten skin and help build collagen and are less expensive than thermage which can run 3000 and if that isnt enough you could do restalyne in the laugh lines and in between the brow.

I was looking at http://www.yestheyrefake.net, and you probably will not benefit from these treatments for wrinkles. Neither would I.

Look at the site! It has awesome information. My 56-year-old mom is thinking about a face lift when she's 60. I try to stay informed on all the anti-aging procedures. I don't want her looking like Joan Rivers.

I use generic Retin-A 0.05% every night. Other than a barely visible smile line on my right side, I have no wrinkles. My mother uses it too. The skin around her eyes is smooooth. The drug thickens the dermis (the 2nd layer of skin) and plumps out the wrinkles. And it takes care of acne too.

No led is infared light Its more for bad complections. The photo facial is a light they pass over the face like a flash to stimulate collagen. More extreme than led but not as extreme as laser or thermage and much cheaper. You can probably get a package of 4 for 1,200.

in regards to the LED I was told that there are different colored lights for various skin problems.
    acne, sun damage and wrinkles.
she will be using the color for wrinkles and skin tightening (not sure what color it is)

I am very interested in these Photo Facials
did you have them done Michele
if so how soon did you see results??

    and Lizette I'm using a Retinaldehyde .05
    I think it's the same thing (??)
how much did yours cost and how long did the results take for you?

I've been using it for 2 weeks now and have gotten no redness (which is weird I was expecting some) but the flakiness has started. It's not uncontrollable though and I anticipate it to subside as my skin aclimates to the tretinoin in the next few weeks. I've gotten several new blemishes but I'm a Retin-a pro I know all this will clear up before the end of May.

    I love Retin-A! <3

The active ingredient in Retin-A is tretinoin, not retinaldehyde. A prescription is needed for tretinoin. I've been using it for 16 years. I can't remember what it was like during the beginning. I've stopped a few times. After a few weeks, acne (esp. blackheads) appear so I use it again.

I'm guessing it takes about 3 months for results to show.

Screminpeachez, the photo facials do work good it depends on the machine they use though. I tried the led too. It was ok but the results were better with the photo facials. They cost a bit more but work better than the light.

    thank you Michele
I am going to have to ask my estheticain if she can do those
She kept pushing the LED's which makes me think she doesn't
    I will shop around... again.
I keep trying to wade through the Beautification Bullshit to find something that truly works.
Does anyone use a website that makes comparisons on all of these treatments??

I don't trust spas. That's why I go to a derm or a plastic surgeon's office where properly trained nurses perform the procedures. And you don't have to tip!!!

I had to return to this thread because I learned I dancer I worked with has gotten Thermage. She's 23. Twenty-freaking-three. Inconceivable!
